Pros: close to train station and restaurants, great breakfast (semi-buffet), value for money Cons: room is a but dusty, and some rooms are located in between 2 floors so you need to climb a few steps with your luggage, rmb to send a note to the hotel if you carry heavy luggage to avoid such rooms.

We only stayed the one night our room was down a flight of stairs which was a bit of a surprise especially having to visit the loo through the night as the toilet was upstairs no good for anyone with any mobility issues there is no bar in the hotel. Another surprise, we didn't get any noise considering the location of the hotel. The bed was comfortable and had a good nights sleep

Very handy location for the train station, the quayside and the city shopping centre. Great cafes nearby especially cafe Andaluz. Bed was a bit lumpy but room was lovely and quiet.

Double room was very small, distinct smell of drains and very very dusty. Reception staff were not particularly helpful e.g. cartons of water in room on first day of stay (as stated) however not provided on subsequent days - when requested were told it was chargeable …we’d get one if we checked out and checked back in again!! On the positive, the staff serving breakfast was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was lovely.

The Grey hotel is LOVLEY the bedding and towels top class the location is perfect the building is old and retains some of the original decor but has been brought up to date in areas needed the breakfast was excellent I would recommend the Grey hotel in a instant

Klimaanlage hat nicht funktioniert, dadurch tropische schwüle im Zimmer. Fünfmaliges beschweren hat nichts gebracht. Ein Ventilator wurde versprochen aber nicht gebracht. Unterkunft war dreckig, fingerdick Staub und Kotspuren in der Toilette. Haben sogar ein paar alte Socken auf dem Boden gefunden. Personal wollte oder konnte kein anderes Zimmer stellen. Alles in allem eine Katastrophe. Umgebung war gut, alles super erreichbar. Das war auch das einzige Gute. Nächstes mal nehme ich eine der großen Ketten.

It was historic and told a good story. The decor was fitting for period of time it was built. There is a LOT of maintenance that NEEDS to be done correctly not by the half drunk self proclaimed handy man they must be using. Door dead bolt broken, shower leaks bc door will not shut, stained chair and no internal lock on emergency exit door that leads to somewhere?
