Do Not Be Fooled by the Pictures! As soon as we arrived, the disappointment began. The carpeted stairs leading to our room were filthy and heavily stained. We had booked two rooms, and both were shockingly small compared to what was shown in the photos. The cleanliness—or lack thereof—was unacceptable. Neither room had been properly cleaned. The carpets were clearly not vacuumed, and the bathrooms were disgusting. One of the toilets had blood splatters around the seat, in the shower, and even on the bin. We immediately complained to reception, and someone came to clean. But when we returned, it was still dirty. A glass in the bathroom had dried toothpaste on it, and there were greasy fingermarks on the underside of the toilet tank. On top of it all, the rooms reeked of bleach, which only tried (and failed) to mask how dusty and grimy everything was. We asked to speak with the manager, but he refused to address the situation directly and left the receptionist to deal with us. We ended up going to another hotel, but it was fully booked. Even they advised us not to stay here, confirming that many guests leave this hotel due to ongoing issues with cleanliness, food, and poor management. Save yourself the trouble—don’t make the same mistake we did.

We enjoyed our stay at Newquay beach hotel. The staff were amazing, friendly and always available for help. The room, deluxe double with balcony and sea view was immaculate. Bed comfortable, amazing view. Stairs area could do with modernising. Location is great and lots around. Our stay was just before the hotel was taken over. We left on the change over day but the new owner was approachable and thanked us for our stay.

The most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in with zero soundproofing between the room and hallway which meant a rude awakening when other drunk guests arrived back. The staff were friendly but that’s can’t detract from the basic room, terrible night sleep and a feeling that I’d been duped by previous reviews!

Hotel okay, tolle Lage mit Blick aufs Meer. Direkt an Hauptstraße, aber das wusste ich vorher. Sehr nett und individuell ausgestattetes Zimmer. Personal anfangs super nett, dann plötzlich Personalwechsel und unpersönlich. Haus sehr hellhörig. Aber für1-2 Nächte super.

The staff were helpful and friendly and in a state of shock as they hadn't been paid and were in the process of being made redundant too. Consequently they had understanderbly lost staff so the bar and restaurant weren't open and room service didn't exist. How the staff maintained their professional and friendly fascade while all this was going on is a credit to them. I doubt the hotel will survive so make sure you pay by credit card if you are prepared to take the risk.

First impressions were OK. Receptionist was lovely & had a good sense of humour. I was shown to my room and the first thing I noticed was the sofas. Either they are trying to be funky or they’ve just forgotten to put the legs on. I followed the receptionist up the well trodden soiled carpeted stairs and was shown to my cell. Yes, I chose the smaller double as it was cheaper, The bed was squashed in between two walls with no bedside cabinets or anywhere to put a bottle of water or a phone. After a quick shower I ventured out for a few beers and later returned to my cell. ( the grey grout in the shower was a nice touch as it disguised the mould from a distance ) I had to crawl up the bed to get in and quickly realised it was one of the cheapest open coil mattresses on the market. My 17 stone completely compressed the 8”mattress and I had an awful nights sleep. In fact I would have been better off sleeping on the rocks on the beach opposite. Parking is available and if you’re lucky you may not get blocked in like I did. Reception were very helpful and knew the culprit. Not impressed!

Lovely staff made it for us. The parking facilities are limited and although we had a place booked, it was taken very quickly on several occasions. Katya, especially, was a star when it came to sorting this out. A nice hotel with “interesting” decor! Not sure about the square mugs in the room!
