If you are looking for a Hollywood movie hotel with bell service and elegance this is not it. If you want an amazing stay in an area that isn't overhyped or too touristy than this is the place to be. My stay there was a romantic getaway for my love Samantha. She lives in Colorado and has never been to Virginia. We stayed from Friday evening through Monday morning. I'm not going to play koi or innocent... I did what every man does when staying in such establishments. I tested the bed with rapid ciolent movements to check for noise. There were creeks and there were some groans. The bed was comfortable and solid. I then listened silently for noise. Silence... I turned on the TV and cranked the

The building is older but don't let it fool you. A quaint 60's era motel that is remodeled and up to date inside with the outside feel of a 1960s mom and pop motel. This is going to be my permanent stop when visiting Norfolk. Nick and his wife are great. The Bay Inn is a family run business and you're treated like family when you stay here. Nick let me know if there were any problems on the property just let him know and he would take care of it. But I never had any problems. We stayed 5 days and wouldn't have had a problem staying 5 more. Nick, it was great meeting you and your wife and I can't wait until we come back to Norfolk to visit again!!

I quite appreciated the quaintness of this vintage motel. Despite the obvious age of the small, roadside inn, the rooms were updated, very clean, and bed and pillows provided a wonderful restful sleep. The owners are super nice. They also have the cutest dog and the place is super clean and very easily walkable to the bay and to Dairy Queen. The courtyard is super cute and very quiet!
