“Previous reviews vary and it is fair to say the property is fairly dated and could do with some work, HOWEVER, the charm of the property and the exceptional service make up for this and more. We are well travelled and have stayed in some exceptional hotels around the world but the friendliness and especially the service was as good as any. After booking our three night stay, i asked if they could book a nice restaurant for our first night and albeit a busy friday they booked a table at the fat……

“Nice little complex, friendly staff and restaurant attached served up an excellent dish. Just down the road from wineries and easy access to main roads. We had to leave early for a flight and staff happily assisted with bringing us breakfast the night before. Easy drive to Cape Town airport. ”

“Lovely people making us feel so at home... Excellent chef Solomon - dinners were a 5 star event! Nice comfortable suite with pleasing gardens well cared for by gardener Nixon. Nothing was too much trouble for Lisa in reception and the lovely waitresses Ashley and Beauty ”

“Unique property for an overnight stay. Enjoyed the extra touches especially the hot water bottles for a cold African night. We were able to leave our bags safely prior to check in while we went to the Cape, then our room became available so we had an unexpected early check in which was above and beyond. Thank you!”

“Hawksmoor House ist ein klassisches, 300 Jahre altes Capholländisches Bauerngehöft. Wir waren zuerst im Herrenhaus untergebracht, dann in einem Nachbargebäude. Beide Zimmer waren ausserordentlich schön. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Zu bemängeln gab es nichts. Allerdings sollten Reisende wissen, dass die Anfahrt über einen unbefestigten Weg erfolgt. Wifi gibt es nur im Herrenhaus. Nach einer Corona-Pause könnte hie und da die Fassade frisch gestrichen werden. Aber dies sind wirklich winzige……

“No provision made with water supply when power went out due to loadshedding. You could not use the bathroom at all. NO extra drinking water in the room. Breakfast at restaurant was also not great. Sorry, not a good overall experience at all. It is situated in a beautiful area. ”

“Nice property but they weren't very accommodating. We had asked if we could bring breakfast back to the room for another guest who wanted to sleep in a little bit and they said we couldnt because they were concerned that the food would sustain the sheets. Very strange response to be honest. Especially since they have a dining table and chairs in the room. Also there wasn't much variety for breakfast or many options for dinner ”
