“Come out with the family on Thanksgiving day. Easy check in, very clean place. All the sheets and pillow cases were freshly washed. Beds were also firm and comfortable. Area is quiet. It’s close to the train tracks but never bothered us. Area is close to downtown Ottawa, lots of groceries. There’s also a Walmart or Farm and Fleet close by. A short 10 minute drive. We planned to hike and drive around but ended up staying in. It got too cold. It was a restful staycation. ”

“Our trip was fantastic. We had a few questions when we checked in and Dean/Team were very helpful and informative. We spent the majority of our time in the theater and it was all you could ask for. We plan on making this our annual house for our yearly guys weekend. ”

“This location is in a great location with great views of the river and harbor. It is well managed and very nice and clean. ”

“We enjoyed the view from our rental and the quietness of the community. I was a bit disappointed in the condition of the rental. The furniture was in bad shape and the level of cleanliness was not to my standard. Kitchen table was wobbly and couch and chair were not comfortable. You could bounce in the chair when you sat down. Carpets were stained and the guest closet wasn't even useable because it was just full of stuff. Cheese wrapper was on the 3rd floor and pretzel wrappers in main……

“We had an amazing time at this cabin! Perfect spot for a fishing trip with friends. The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The location by the river made it easy to fish right from the dock, and we loved relaxing by the fire pit in the evenings. Plenty of space for all five of us, and the peaceful surroundings were exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great outdoor getaway!”

“Loved the home, it was perfect for the six of us. Heritage Harbor has incredible potential. We all thought it would be the perfect location to visit when the construction was more complete. It was disappointing that the area surrounding the home was all dirt and foundations were literally being dug around us. Only comments about the home we’d like to share were regarding the ceiling fans upstairs were very dirty, plumbing in the basement was noisy, and the screen door needs to be repaired.……

“My kids, grandkids ages 8-17 stayed for 4 days in December. It was nice that the house was decorated. We enjoyed the hot tub and the ping pong table. We visited the Farnsworth House nearby which was really interesting!”

“Perfect location. So quiet. I will rebook this location when I come back into town. Home has is everything you will need. I have stayed many places and they have ice trays. Its the little things that make a stay peaceful. ”

“The home was welcoming and comfortable. A nice getaway close to Starved Rock and local retail.”

“Beautiful, newly constructed home with so many amenities! Everything in the house was first rate. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, no overcrowding. The kids loved the beach area, playing pickleball, cooling off in the pool and renting a pontoon boat at the marina.”

“Nice quiet little town with two bigger cities both north and south that are 10-15 minutes away. The history they have for you to read about this little house was very interesting and enjoyable to learn. Karen, the owner, was quick to answer and questions even over the Christmas weekend. The cleanliness of the house was very good. Highly recommend this rental. ”

“We were disappointed in this unit. This is a very old building that needs a lot of work. The windows are filthy. The front door mats are bunched up in a pile on the front stoop. The ‘movie themed’ decor was chinsy at best. The parking area is filled with garbage, broken cinder blocks, a tire, and a junked car. There weee old shoes on balcony. The ‘landscaping’ was filled with garbage and debris. The check-in rules and regulations are extensive (requiring expensive insurance or $5,000 cash……

“The River House was exactly what we needed for our family, and more! The space was great for our 4, 2, and 1 year old, and the kitchen was super easy to work out of. The hosts put so many thoughtful details into the space and had extremely quick and helpful communication. We will definitely stay here again anytime we are in the area. ”

“This property was falsely represented . It was not clean . We found bugs , dead and alive , in dishes and on countertops . The windows were taped shut and filthy . The noise was horrible from a resident working on a vehicle and street noise was terrible .The stairways were narrow and steep . Air conditioning was ineffective . We left after 1 night .”
