This property was one block from the beach, across the street from a high end shopping center, backed up to a lagoon, and everything was easily accessible to it, however, instead of taking advantage of this, the property owners have put zero effort into updating. When we arrived, we were told our room was on the second floor. We were staying for a week and had a fair amount luggage. There was no elevator. We had to schelp our things up and down the stairs. The carpet was probably the original. And filthy. The beds were hard. The lighting was inadequate. The wall plugs heated up our electronics. There was no ice. The bathroom floor was patched with different tile near the tub. The caulking was chipped. The tub was pink. That means that tub has been in that room for at least 65 years! I grew up in Alameda and I’m 75 years old. I remember this same motel back then. It really seems as if management has a gold mine if they would just renovate.
