Look, if you want adequate accommodations, this hotel has what you need. But if you require something really nice, this is not it.
What's to like: Parking, walking distance to great coffee and lovely view of Capitol Lake and the Capitol Dome, fast Internet, nice TV, lots of hot water in the shower, plenty of outlets and decent coffee ready at 6. You get an iron and ironing board and a safe, a tiny coffee pot with coffee and tea packets and the usual toiletries.
What not to like: the entry smells like cigarette smoke as does the entire main floor, homeless people gather at the front of the hotel, the toilet doesn't have the paper strip that confirms it's been sanitized, the bathtub surface is completely peeling. It feels shabby and not up to my cleanliness standards. Breakfast is not for the health conscious except for the apple and banana, but there's granola, cheerios, yogurt, etc. The dining area is freezing in February.
Bottom line: it is convenient and has what you need.
