“Very nice having a little self-contained cottage. Owner came out to make sure I got in okay (late arrival). Only thing that's a potential stumbling block is low availability of bedside power, due to construction age, which I was easily able to deal with. HIGHLY recommended.”

“The hotel has been updated quite recently so room condition was very good and was very clean. This is a super 8 so not a luxery hotel by any means but good value. We had a pet and there is a good area out one door for the dog to potty. The only downsides were the availability of outlets in the proper places--only two by bedside table and one being used for the wall lamp, and had to unplug the lamp on the desk to use the coffee pot--in the dark. There were a few other outlets but nothing by……

“Place was quiet and clean and convenient to Custer State Park. Lots of deer, turkeys, etc around the property and Forest Service trails are just across the road. Be aware this is not a separate cabin, it is a unit in a building of three units so you will likely have neighbors. That was not at all clear from the online listing. Fortunately it was not a big issue during our trip, but it could be if neighbors are loud or have lots of kids.”

“The home was perfect for all of our family. It was so kids friendly that the great grandchildren were easily entertained. It was great to have outside activities to do, too. My daughters loved the arrangement of the kitchen. Thank you for sharing your home,”

“Great stay as usual. Our go to spot in Custer. It was a very cold and breezy night, the room heater took some time to warm the room up. Looking forward to our next visit.”

“We had such a lovely stay here. The rooms were completely furnished with thoughtful amenities to help us further enjoy our stay. The property lies in a beautiful and remote location. Lisa and Mike showed us practical care and many personal kindnesses during our short holiday.”

“This is a motel on the main drag of Custer. Easy walking to bars and many restaurants. It’s an older hotel and not much to look at on the outside. However the rooms are large and nicely appointed. Comfortable beds, nice towels, indoor pool and hot tub, coffee maker, nice size TV, in room are just some of the amenities. If you can get a good deal on it, it’s a great place. Took one star off as it’s a little pricey. Custer is a great base camp for the southern blackhills.”
