Please do not book the ocean suites with a “garden view” on the children’s side of the hotel. It is a completely different location than the actual renaissance. I took my best friends on this trip with our children and I payed over $5k for 2 suites and you would think our rooms would atleast be decent.
First off the front desk staff needs more training. A lot of the staff were very unwelcoming and not friendly at all. They also don’t answer the phones after 11pm. Every time we stepped outside for dinner to get transportation there was no one to be found, and when we would ask for a bell man, the front desk would have an attitude. Housekeeping staff were the friendliest and the most accommodating than anyone else that worked there. They brought us joy.
Our room had a balcony with the view of a massive parking lot and 2 huge garbage bins. All you would hear at night and early morning was garbage trucks, laundry trucks unloading the sound of banging, car alarms and people yelling. We had to keep our blinds shut the entire time. Also, pool on the kids side was absolutely disgusting and dirty.
Only reason why I’m not leaving a 1 star is because the manager Deidre turned everything around for us the day before we left. She was calming, listened and was very empathetic. She worked hard and found better rooms for all of us with a partial ocean view.
The main hotel was beautiful but it is not the same location. Don’t book the garden view room. As it is not a “Garden view”.
