Overall experience was satisfactory. The very large issue I have with this property is that it advertises a hot tub. I chose this property because it stated it has a hot tub. Even displayed pictures of a hot tub on its website photos when booking. The truth is, this property has no hot tub. Not since covid. False advertisement. You are luring people in on the false assumption that you offer a service which you do not.

The 2 staff at check out were wonderful and very helpful. 5 star to them. The rooms are nice and big, but our first room didn’t have windows that open (poor design) so we moved to a cheater balcony room for fresh air. That was nice, but careful what you wish for because our view was a parking lot full of school busses. We did have to drive to go downtown and to the Harbour, but parking was free. The day of checkout, we had an event to go and blow dryer in our room was broken. I called down to the front desk and the staff person, Mary told me that there were no blow dryers as they were all distributed to other rooms. (Note to hotel, check all rooms as this seems to be an issue). I then asked if someone could locate a blow dryer and she said no they are all distributed. Then I said I do need a blow dryer to dry my hair as I have an event today. She was very condescending and rude and said there were none available. As a customer service person myself, I would think she would just say leave that with me. I will find you one, or maybe just send the housekeeping staff to a vacant room and find me a blow dryer. She was not very pleasant or helpful. I did end getting one, but not after being spoken to in an unprofessional manner. It put a sour note on a nice stay.

The free breakfast offered is a joke for what they charge. Was supposed to have a room with a hot tub and champagne service. Didnt get either. This place is a.joke in a horrible neighborhood.

I stayed at the Stone Gate years ago and it was a nice, clean, well kept ‘homey’ place. Based on Expedia reviews I booked it again. What a complete disappointment. The place is old, tired and badly in need of a renovation. Even the parking lot is a mess. The pictures are clearly not recent ones and the ‘good’ reviews are clearly FAKE !! The place is an absolute dump. Our assigned suite was old, tired and reeked of stale smoke. The walls badly need painting and there were plaster patches all over the place. The manager tried his best to make things right but you can’t ‘put lipstick on a pig’. We were lucky to find a vacancy at another local hotel (Marriott) which was very nice. I accept losing one nights stay but will be coming after Expedia for a refund for the following nights. The place was totally misrepresented. DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OF THE FAKE REVIEWS. THE PLACE IS A DUMP!!!

Typical hotel. Staff was friendly and efficient. The breakfast lady was great! Our room was clean and the A/C worked well. Hotels was quiet. Easy to get to after a concert at Rama. Reasonably priced. Would stay here again.

We have stayed here many times. This time did not live up to our expectations but the manager I spoke to regarding many issues promised our next stay at the end of July would be much better. We booked 2 reservations for a 2 night stay and even though I called the hotel the day before to confirm our rooms would be on the same floor and close together when we checked in Friday they tried to give us rooms 201 and 309. When I made it very clear to the ladies behind the desk that this was unacceptable they finally came up with a second room on the 3 floor. When I went to the front desk on Saturday morning to inquire about fresh towels and toiletries the lady’s customer service was lacking. We did finally receive towels around 4pm. One thing that was not disappointing was the morning breakfast buffet. This is thanks to Michelle who makes sure every thing is replenished very quickly. Her customer service is outstanding and she made sure all the guests were treated with respect. You are very lucky to have such a wonderful person on your team. The interior of the property has had a nice refresh but the exterior still needs attention. Some nice flowers have been planted but the weeds are overtaking the areas and the long grass also needs cutting so your guests have a better impression of the property when they arrive.

The property, building and room were beautiful. The room has a kitchenette, with coffee pot, a sink, fridge and microwave and a few dishes, etc in the cupboard. Bathroom has a deep tub for soaking in, and a shower with great water pressure and I did not run out of hot water. Also has two safety handles (built into the tub surround) and shelves for all your necessities. Everything was sparkling clean. They have a swimming pool, but I was too busy to go check it out. Breakfast is included! I highly recommend the Stone Gate Inn. Price was very reasonable!!!
