“1 The Noust is a perfect haven for a quiet retreat and to explore mainland Orkney. The cottage is extremely well equipped, especially the kitchen. The storage heaters made the cottage just comfortable, without being 'too hot.' There are some lovely walks around the village and a local shop for any groceries required. The host provides excellent communication regarding booking, key access, the cottage itself and answered any queries within mins. For us, this cottage was a special find and we hope……

“An excellent base for exploring beautiful Orkney. The flat is attractive, comfortable and well equipped, and is in a great location for shopping, restaurants, and places of interest - and also for getting to the bus stationt if you plan to use public transport to get around (we did). Checking in and out was hassle-free. If you have mobility restrictions, I'd contact the (helpful) host before booking as the front doorstep is high and slightly hard to balance on. “Windy but not a problem”

“Withi-Gill was a beautiful cottage in a remarkable landscape -- views of Hoy and Graemsay were beautiful (when the weather cooperated, which was most days), and with a short walk, views of much of the western part of Mainland Orkney, including Stromness. The facilities were great, and the cottage was well-equipped for our needs. There's access to a small beach across the road and down a short track along the former millrun. “Great location in Kirkwall, close to the information centre, supermarkets, abs the cathedral. Clean as a whistle too! ”

“Great apartment right in the centre of Kirkwall town. Literally in the alley few seconds to a bar serving food. Then the harbour front is seconds away Make sure you go into the Albert street car park stay left and turn into, usually a space outside the apartment can park for free. Go up couple steps and will see Ivy house ”

There was an allocated parking spot for this particular apartment just out side of the front door, but someone else was parked in it for our entire stay. This is just a comment, not a complaint, as there was additional free parking near by which we used instead.”
