I booked this hotel for the second time because I was pleased with my first stay. At 3:15 p.m., I asked the receptionist, Janet, if I could check in. She asked for my name but didn’t request any ID. She then told me the room was still “dirty”—and she even prolonged the word when she said it. I said that was fine and told her to just let me know when it was ready, as I would be waiting in the lobby.
About 10 minutes later, three guests arrived to check in. Janet assisted one of them and asked for a piece of ID. The other two (couple) were helped by a different receptionist. Janet looked over at me and seemed to notice that I was upset. After the couple had finished checking in, she finally told me I could check in and that the next receptionist would assist me.
What surprised me was that Janet didn’t even check the computer to see if my room was ready—she was just standing there. I believe the room had already been available earlier, but she simply didn’t want to let me in at 3:15 p.m.
When I finally got the room, I was disappointed. The toilet bowl wasn’t properly cleaned, and the bed sheets were itchy. Since this hotel has one main door for every two rooms, I could constantly hear the neighboring guests going in and out, slamming the door repeatedly. Between 10:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., there were also loud kids making noise.
Overall, I’m totally disappointed with my second stay here.
