The Norton House sits right on the Lake with a breathtaking view of the Big Niangua arm and features wood floors and a newly renovated kitchen with granite countertops, flat screen televisions and free wi-fi. There are 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths plus two additional queen roll-out sofas. All 3 bedrooms have queen beds.

Enjoy the lakeside picnic grounds and kayaking, relax on the patio and watch the boating activity, grill your supper or eat out, then let the sound of nature lull you to sleep at night.

The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, range, microwave, dishwasher and side bar for your favorite beverages. Enjoy dinners inside in the dining area or outside on the patio so you don't miss the beautiful weather and wildlife! Or, there are several restaurants nearby from casual to fine dining. There is also a big green egg and and offset smoker grill if you like to BBQ. There is a nice, private firepit just outside the front door for your enjoyment.

The Norton House is located west of Camdenton right where the Big Niangua tributary changes from a river to the Lake of the Ozarks. You'll be 'lured' to the Lake where the fishing is amazing for catfish, bass, crappie and walleye. Or play golf at either of two courses, Lake Valley Country club or Old Kinderhook (a Tom Weiskoph signature course).

One of the best features of this property and its sister rental, The Chardonel House, is the easy access to the Lake of the Ozarks. The lakeside picnic grounds is a short walk down the hill from the house or you can drive down the concrete driveway to the park.

About a hundred yards up the driveway from the house is an open-aired pavilion clubhouse with games to enjoy or just sit and take in the lake view.

You have free access to 4 kayaks, singles or doubles, for the length of your stay (a $100.00 value) and can pack a nice picnic lunch and your favorite beverages to enjoy while leisurely paddling the Niangua! Please note that in early spring the Lake water level is drawn down about 5 feet to make ready for the spring rains but you can still launch the kayaks from our dock in the shallower water.

No matter what your perception of a perfect vacation is, you won't be disappointed with the relaxation and serene feeling you will have when you leave this refreshing property!

Annual Family Reunion
We were looking for a house on the lake with rooms (with bathrooms) for 3 couples. This house filled the bill with the added bonus of a fire pit where we ended up spending most of our time. Overall it was a great place to stay. The bedrooms were somewhat poorly lit, the living room needs a couple more comfortable chairs, and the south and east windows could use some blinds, but, other than that, the accommodations were pretty wonderful. We may be back.

This house was much better than stated in the VRBO website and pictures. The lake view from the deck is the greatest! The property furnishings inside and outside were very comfortable. The rocking chairs on the deck were great for comfort and enjoying the surroundings. Would definitely go back again and recommend it to friends. .

Weekend get away
We celebrated my birthday on the lake Labor Dsy weekend. This is away from the hussle and bussle and is very peaceful even on a holiday weekend. The dock was great to float (water was shallow so a bit muddy). We floated on the raft, used the paddle boat, and kayaked to the cave. Perfect!!

Beautiful stay
We loved our stay! The property and view were just what we needed to unwind with plenty of activities on property and close by, so it was a great balance. Access to the water is on the property but not right out the back door- you’ll need to walk or drive a very short distance but it’s downhill due to the house sitting on a cliff, which allows the amazing view of the lake but just something to know ahead of time. It was fine for us but anyone with mobility issues should consider this. We were sad to leave, it was truly a beautiful get away.

Very enjoyable stay
This was a fantastic place to stay. It is very relaxing with lots of space to spread out and enoy the water and kayaking and family. We had 3 couples and a child and we all had our own space and enough room to cook and eat together. We enjoyed the firepit and hiking the hills. We would definately stay here again. Amazing family vacation
Great location!! Calm and peaceful water, so many activities for our older kids (and adults), comfy house with room for everyone and lots of bathrooms. We enjoyed the games and ping pong in the clubhouse, kayaking every day (to the cave and to Ha Ha Tonka State Park), so close to Camdenton for coffee shop, restaurants, disc golf, fires every evening either at the house or down by the lake, swimming and riding the pedal boat and paddle boards, and finally renting a pontoon boat from Lakerunners and riding horses at Old Family Farm, all nearby. Awesome 4 days!!!

Perfect quiet secluded get away cabin
Great location, clean and well equipped also! Perfect for 3 retired guys on a golf trip to nearby golf courses. 3 bedrooms and each had their own bathroom. Didn’t cook or eat in the home but used the coffee maker. Great deck off the kitchen overlooking the lake - nice outdoor area with a fire pit, and grills - didn’t use them but maybe next time!

Lake living fun!
We were in town for our son’s 12u baseball World Series at Ballpark Nationals @ the lakes of the Ozarks. This was the absolute perfect property! It was conveniently located near the ball park, state park and having usage of paddle boards and kayaks made it extra for evening paddles to the cave about a 20 mins paddle. The cabin was clean and spacious and provided all the necessities needed as far as kitchen supplies. I would recommend any teams or families attending the WS there to call the owners and see if you can rent the 2 other properties on the grounds. It was be great for a team group or even a family reunion. Lastly, we brought our boat for fishing and we were able to dock it there during our time. They had a nice fire pit for chill evenings and picnic tables down the hill by the dock and activity area. If we are to return again next year we will be reaching out to the owner Barb to book again!!!

This was a Beautiful and relaxing place!! Kayaking was amazing. We kayaked to the Onyx cave(To get to the cave was only 20 min. of relaxed Kayaking) The littles had a blast!! Talk about a view !
The Norton House was such a joy. The view from the deck is amazing. If your desire for a getaway is a clean and very comfortable home with a view of the lake, you can't beat this place. We have stayed in Barb and Ward's rentals for the last 7-8 years and have never been disappointed. Everything you need to enjoy the peace and quiet.
