“The property is in a good location for Bedale and surrounding area. It is well equipped and has a fantastic garden & a very comfortable double bed. However some of the cutlery had to be washed and parking is difficult even with the permit. A new front door may give a better first impression.”

“Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space.”

“A much-needed and wonderfully relaxing stay at Hideaway Cottage. The cottage is a true hideaway, tucked away up a little lane with a beautiful little garden which was full of flowers. It was very peaceful, virutally all we heard was the sound of birds and church bells. Ampleforth was very quiet and the coffee shop was a stone's throw away serving fabulous breakfasts and afternoon teas.
