There were some really great things about staying at Soho Champagne, and some not so great things. Let's start with the good...we loved the location - close to Dow Lake and Little Italy. There are tons of great restaurants within walking distance. It was dog friendly. Our apartment was very nice - modern, clean and plenty of room!
The bad part was the lack of communication. I was told I'd have check-in instructions 24 hours in advance. I didn't. I had to contact Expedia who contacted the property to get instructions. Only then did they come.
The person behind the front desk was not friendly. He was efficient and all business, and wouldn't answer questions until he had completed his whole speel. He did offer check-in information, but not in a friendly way at all. I felt like I was bothering him.
We wanted to park our car in the lot below the building, but we had a cartop carrier on it, and the same guy at check-in came out and very firmly and explicitly told us not to try to park there. .Luckily there is a surface lot next to the Soho Residences, and as long as you're not moving your car, it's actually cheaper than using the Soho Underground lot.
When I left, Soho Champagne charged my card again for $25 with no explanation. I had to ask once again for an invoice that was supposed to have come immediately after we checked out. All in all, the lack of communication put a damper on our stay.
