“I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Nikko recently and honestly, it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The location alone makes it worth the trip — right on Lake Chuzenji, with the mountains and waterfalls of Nikko all around. It feels super peaceful and completely different from the city vibe of Tokyo.
Rooms
The rooms are huge by Japanese standards and beautifully designed. Think modern but with lots of Japanese touches — sliding doors, deep soaking tubs, and big windows that frame……
“Had an awesome stay, right up in the mountains. Staff were great and even shuttled us to the train station and back whenever we needed it. Loved and it would definitely stay again. ”
“First of all, I will have to say this hotel has very minor stinkbug problem just like all the Japanese old style wood structure hotels have. In the winter those bugs will find a way to invade wood houses, but don't worry, they won't bite, and the staffs try to clean them at their best. Beside that, all the other service is top grade compare to the price, people are friendly and try to provide best they have, nice onsen, comfortable and clean rooms, I think I will consider to stay there again.”
"The hotel is exactly what I imagined a perfect stay would be like in Japan. It has EVERYTHING I expected. The traditional style, the view, the food, the vibe..
The staff are very welcoming and responsive and helpful.
I bought the half board. The breakfast and dinner are wonderful. The location is also great, very close to the sites and nice cafes and restaurants. Strongly recommended! Would definitely stay longer for a week next time in Nikko. "
"The non-Japanese staff did not turn on the heater nor she did not leave any remote control to us. It was cold by mid night and we did not sleep in comfort. Do not have hot spring spa."
