This elegant hotel is both historic and modern. Though the hotel and the central buildings date from 1936, recent renovations ensure that the space both attests to the venerable tradition of the site and provide modern amenities. While I did not use them, the event and conference spaces were truly impressive. The rooms were all recently updated and simply grand! The breakfast was top-notch, as were both of the fantastic historic restaraunts attached to the hotel. The staff was exellent, valet services (including dry cleaning with an additional charge) were also exellent. It was honestly just fantastic! I cannot think of any way it could be improved. My toilet did have a problem when I checked in, but the staff had it fixed in less than five minutes! This is THE place to stay if you are visiting Madison, NJ or the surrounding small towns. The downtown area is close. The hotel is a long walk or a short drive away from both Downtown Madison, Fairleigh Dickinson and Drew Universities as well as the United Methodist Archive and History Center at Drew, the Drew Theological School, and the Museum of Early Trades and Crafts.
