“Ideal location for getting around the island. Really good property however being slightly disabled i found the wooden staircase a challenge. It meant i had to drink less to avoid frequent toilet trips...ha ha. Would certainly recommend.”

“The property is in the ideal location for touring North and South of the Island. The rooms were spotlessly clean and equipped to a high standard, one of the best we've ever stayed in. The thorough information file was very useful as was the comprehensive library of leaflets and booklets on things to do and places to see. Everything has been thought through with care, from the quality furnishings, crockery, cutlery etc. to the magnificent welcome basket of food and wine. Can but hope it's……

“We enjoyed our stay! Good location on the beach in walking distance of restaurants and relatively easy to park on the street. Friendly staff, and great food at the restaurant. Breakfast was solid too with the option of kippers to go with a full-English-type spread. Would recommend! ”

“Lovely older hotel - lotsa stairs to some of the rooms but not an issue for us. Very nice rooms, comfortable bed, great hotel staff. Great breakfast, great location close to shopping, train and bus, and ferry terminal. Great breakfast and nice restaurant overall.”

“The Sefton is a grand building toward the town centre end of the promenade and about 10 minutes walk from the Sea Terminal and buses to and from the airport stop close by, so very convenient. Check in was smooth. I booked an atrium room which was quiet, modern but not bland. Good bathroom, living area with a balcony. The room was clean and in good order, regular top ups in the tea/ coffee dept; along with complimentary bottled water. The bed was rather firm I thought but I slept well. Breakfast……

“Fantastic location, the place itself was incredible. The kitchen/living room was huge, very spacious, big windows so lots of light and very well equipped. Private and out of the way. Bedrooms and bathrooms were an excellent size, well equipped, and very clean. Beds very very comfortable. The area was very quiet, convenient (bus stop nearby, trains within walking distance, shop within walking distance although a hill to get there but that didn't bother us at all). “It's a very clean hotel, the ownership is very friendly and helpful. It is not a modern cookie cutter hotel or building. It is the Victorian era. It is not fancy in modern terms. The stairs are steep and narrow, they way they were done at the time it was built. I would like more lighting on them. Breakfasts were good and satisfying. I had plenty of hot water. ”
