The property itself is beautiful. Dated, but necessary. Unfortunately I do not feel you get what you pay for. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights, (weekend rates) which to be expected were pricy, but too high for this property for what it yields. We also had a high price point because we did opt for the room with the tub and fireplace. Upon arrival the fireplace in our room didn’t work, we called the front desk the gentleman that came by was friendly but not able to be of any assistance. Notified us that maintenance does not live on property and he “may or may not answer tonight so it may be morning before he comes” we asked to be switched to a different room to which he stated they were fully booked. My husband ended up fixing the fireplace. Maintenance never came, nobody ever followed up with us about it… There was mold in the refrigerator along the shelves and door most likely because of the temperature of the room and it seemed as if the cleaning products used weren’t wiped out and just sat.
Some helpful information that you aren’t told and have to learn is the fireplace is controlled by the thermostat in the room that one would presume was for the heat/ac. Set the heat to on, and the temp has to be then set to warmer than the room temperature and then the fireplace lights itself.
It was a nice, relaxing stay overall but for the price I would not hurry to rebook here.
We also ate at the steakhouse on property and it was okay. Nothing grand but nice and convenient.
