“Cozy cottage in the 'backyard' area of owner's house, with private entrance. Convenient location closeto train station (we stayed relying on public transport and uber, and it worked!). Jacques was very attentive and great host. Thank you for the pleasant stay.”

“We needed a place to house our extended family of 9 for a few days near Newburgh and Fishkill. This place was perfect! There was plenty of space for everyone, and everything about the house and property was top notch. We also visited Cold Spring and Beacon, both of which are cute little towns with lots of character. The backyard firepit came in handy too when we entertained some local friends. Ida and Matt were great hosts and were responsive to our every question and need. If/when we are back……

“We stayed in early May, so didn't get to enjoy the lake, other than the serene view from the many windows in the house. Bird lovers will enjoy the many, many birds observable through the sliding glass doors and audible constantly. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well-stocked with what we needed to cook our meals. We found plenty of places to hike. We found the description on vrbo a little confusing because the house next door was also pictured. We figured it out, though. ”

“I hesitate to sound too over the top in my praise of the Carriage House in Croton, but it’s difficult not to. The space is so comfortable, cozy, and filled with beautiful Mexican art pieces every where you look. Nothing has been forgotten by the hosts, who are charming and gracious, while allowing guests absolute privacy.The Carriage House is surrounded by natural beauty everywhere you look. From the Croton River below, to the wild turkeys in the morning and evening, and the omnipresent sound……

“The house was clean and nicely decorated. Had lots of things to do inside and out. Was slightly disappointed that the lake wasn’t closer. when looking on the pictures we didn’t notice that there was a main street between the house and the lake. It wasn’t easy for for some of the guests who get down the steep hill from the house to the street and then another sleep hill to the lake. As long as you know that going into the rental, you’ll be fine. ”

“Our family's stay at Helen and Richie's property for the holidays was perfect. Waking up to views of the lake every morning, watching flocks of birds travel on the water and being surrounded by nature was all we could ask for. The house has all amenities provided in the kitchen, bathrooms etc. Location is convenient near shops, grocery, and restaurants in New Fairfield. The hosts were very responsive in communication and I appreciated them providing everything we needed. ”
