I am 70 years old, and have had recent health issues. I informed of my age during correspondence ahead of my visit. Arriving at 2am (airport issues plus very late shuttle - see below), I was given complicated instructions to my room, offered no assistance to help me reach my room, and informed there were no lifts to a room on the 2nd floor. It would have been next to impossible for me to have reached my room with my luggage! Fortunately the desk clerk changed my room, but seemed miffed about having to do so. As an older traveller I felt completely disrespected.
Another issue was the shuttle service. I knew my flight was not arriving until nearly midnight, so deliberately chose accommodation I thought was close to the airport and would provide a shuttle. On arrival, despite being told the shuttle would take 10 minutes to arrive, I (and other passengers) waited at the airport for 45 minutes, and then the shuttle took a circuitous route that took another 20-25 minutes. And there was a 30 min wait for the shuttle back to the airport next day.
There were Internet issues as well on arrival, though the (more professional) day staff fixed these next day.
May I suggest your staff read their e-mails in case of special requests, and have a porter on call for upstairs rooms? - we aren't all athletes in the prime of life! Recognising that people arriving late at night will be tired and wanting a hassle-free arrival wouldn't go astray either.
