Family and Friends 4 Bedroom Newer Vacation Home

Newly built, quiet, family vacation home , on a wide double lot, in Petoskey . This totally private home was recently built on the wooded property behind the owners residence and backs up to the original home. Lots of private open space around the home . Plenty of parking. Beautiful 6 panel- pine doors, white maple, hardwood floors throughout (no musty, germy carpets). High ceilings in all rooms. Located on a large, deep grassy lot with a large yard area. Easy walk to downtown area. Large deck with campfire area, smaller rear outpost deck. Wi fi Internet. Full size washer and dryer. Fully equipped kitchen. Large refrigerator, new Dishwasher, Microwave, Stove and Oven. Nicely decorated. Air conditioning, Gas log interior fireplace. All comforters are housed in beautiful new duvet covers , these covers are removed and washed during every guest changeover. Large level front yard for playing and games.
Lots of free polished and natural Petoskey stones for all guests. Owner will play guitar for group , at the campfire if asked. The Owner is a well known Petoskey Stone artist and an acoustic guitar player. Stones which the guests find will be polished by owner. A special secret Petoskey stone finding map, will be provided. A wonderful, wide hiking trail, along the beautiful Bear River, which leads to Lake Michigan waterfront and the downtown area, is just 2 blocks away. Mackinac Island fairy boats are just 1/2 hour away.

Up North getaway

Dear Al, Thank You for hosting and allowing us to stay in your house. We love your place-it is quiet, spacious, comfortable and unique. It is in a good neighborhood, and walking distance to the charming downtown with shops and restaurants. It is close proximity to the lakes and Petoskey State Park. We especially love the personal touches throughout your house that you provided during our stay. The house reminded us of an addition my father in law built onto his house, but with even more artistic & character. It also reminded me of my grandfather who used his creativity to build things around the house and handmade things for family & friends. Thank You Al for your kindness and for making us feel "at home". We had a great stay & had so much fun exploring Petoskey, Mackinac Island, & Charlevoix. We will come back & stay at your place again. Home Base for Mid or Late Summer Trip to Petoskey

Several positives of this property were the full kitchen, washer and dryer, several beds, and location not far from downtown. The host was very responsive, and came the next morning when the GSCI tripped on a wall in our bedroom and wouldn't reset. He was very generous in giving beautiful Petoskey stones, which was a highlight of our trip. A couple days of our trip in mid-June were rainy and very cold. I had expected a campfire option in the wooded lot, but the fire option was in a fire pit sitting on the deck. The fire pit was rusty and filled with water, which is natural after a day of rain, but didn't provide what I'd been hoping for as a good option on a chilly evening. The grass in the backyard was not mowed, and wasn't an outdoor playing option for our kids as I'd hoped. The house itself is darker on the inside, and has an eclectic layout with a sliding glass door to the one full bathroom, which you access through a bedroom. The half bath is very small and may not be a comfortable option for all adults. Overall, this property was clean and has a responsive host in a location not far from the Petoskey marina and downtown. I believe it would have been a better option for us if we had only used it as a home base for sleeping during a mid or late summer trip for swimming at the beach.

Great location to ski areas

I was very happy with our choice of staying here. We have 2 old dogs and we were worried about ski areas being too far away from them. But skiing was close and downtown was closer so we didn’t have to worry. Also good yard and nice neighborhood. The owner was very friendly and helpful

Great rental with a fantastic owner

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin in Petoskey. It was conveniently located from the ski resorts we were hitting and the amenities this place offered were endless. The polished petoskey stones were a great touch that all the guests enjoyed getting their hands on. The owner is extremely nice and willing to go above and beyond what is expected from an owner. Will be coming again!

Great location!

Property clean and communication with Al was very easy and helpful! Location was wonderful - nice neighborhood yet very close to shopping/parks/ski resorts. Layout of house was unusual, but still very functional. Petosky stones were a nice touch!

Great Ski Bungalow

We had three couples stay together for a ski weekend with dogs in tow. Super accommodating on check-in and check-out times! Lovely location! Such great price too for the area! We would stay there again, for sure! The layout is unusual, with a breeze through bedroom, but it works!

Close to town

Al's house was a good place to spend a few days with family. We especially liked the location and walked to downtown several times. Al also gave us Petoskey stones that he polished himself!

Spacious and comfortable

Convenient and cute

Great place to stay if you want to be close to downtown Petoskey. Lots of beds and super easy to come and go. Internet was a bit spotty but otherwise we were pleased. Great spot for the cost.

Beautiful getaway

The place has a lot of room. Great for a larger group! We met Al, the owner and he showed us around the place.It's simple and all what we needed for a family! Downtown is pretty close. We rode bikes and explored the marina and downtown.Al was kind to leave some Petoskey stones for us as a souvenir ❤️ which we thought was a very kind gesture 🙌 We would definitely come back! Very clean

The home was very clean. Just did not expect to have an office in the front of the home. It had plenty of room for us and very clean. Loved the rocks gifted to us!
