“This property checks all the boxes for a great trip to Varenna and to explore Lake Como. It is in an ideal location, central to restaurants and shopping and close to the ferry docks. It was incredibly clean and well appointed with nice details, like coffee and basic herbs and spices and plenty of other amenities to make the stay comfortable. We spent hours sitting in the loft, taking in the view as well as exploring the town and other towns in the Lake Como are. Communication with the hosts……

“Det som var positivt var utsikten som var tilgjengelig så lenge man sto oppreist, kort vei til togstasjon (lokaltog), kort vei til flere små badeplasser og gangavstand til Varenna (1600 meter). Det var dessverre mange ting å utsette. Det fantes ikke noe matbutikk eller bakeri i Fiumelatte, slik det var opplyst. Nærmeste supermarked var i Lierna, 7 km. unna. Leiligheten var svært skuffende. Liten, og absolutt ikke plass til seks personer! Oppvaskmaskinen fungerte ikke. Vanskelig dialog med……

“Marco and his wife are fabulous hosts! We were greeted warmly and with chilled presence and homemade bread. It is a short distance to Varenna and you can walk the greenway into town. The apartment was great with a fabulous sunroom and outdoor patio overlooking Lake Como. We would definitely stay here again.”

“Ours was a short but very sweet stay at Porta Rossa. We had to make last minute plans and fell into this gem! We want to come back again and will plan it when this place is available. Walking distance to train and all the shopping and boat trips you could ever imagine in the region.The views of the Lake Como were spectacular. Book this place whenever you can.”

“Instructions for check in were detailed and we had no problems. We were able to find a parking spot in the garage but be warned there are only a few and it's first come first serve. The view from the apartment is breathtaking. The location is in Fiumelatte, a 20-ish minute walk to Varenna which we were happy to do every day. The apartment amenities are basic but fine and comfortable and clean. My only real complaint is there was no Wifi network as advertised. And I did not hear back when I……

PLEASE do yourself a favor and enter the address into Google or Apple Maps and DO NOT rely on the map within the VRBO app. It is wrong. This Villa is up the hill in Perledo and not very accessible walking. We made due but it was certainly not where VRBO leads you to believe it is.”

“We were very happy with our stay at this property. Daniela & Marco are very kind people and were very welcoming upon our arrival. They even provided us with some local treats and bottle of Prosecco! They were very responsive to our questions as well. There is a designated parking space and access to a small beach right across the street. Beds are comfortable and having two bathrooms for our family was a bonus. If you are planning to cook, I recommend stopping in Lecco on your way to the……
