Overall had an excellent stay at Grand Velas. Got upgraded to Grand Class through Expedia VIP access. Nora our butler was very attentive. The food is the best part about this resort. Unlike all the other all inclusive resorts, food here is excellent. The minor downsides that we noticed: the concierge via whatsapp available until 5 pm and then you have to call a number from a room, which is a bit inconvenient when you want to adjust dinner plans, need something last minute, have to go back to the suite, music selection at the pool needs major improvement, it was either not on, or something that was not very good, we noticed the butlers around the pool were hesitant to change the towel or give extra towels when asked which made it somewhat awkward, and while room service breakfast was amazing, the breakfast buffet at the azul was disappointing. Things were not clearly labeled, there were no clear directions on how to order omelettes, pancakes etc.
