There was mold in the shower and shower heads. We where told we where VIP so they gave us privilege room. We were at the privilege beach for 3 days and the last day a staff member came up to us and kicked us out told us we had no privilege rights. I explained to him the guy at the front desk told us we did when we checked in for being Expedia members he said that I needed to move to the public area and threatened me with security. This was the second to last day for us and he expressed that if I did not move now immediately when their where a bunch of empty spots nobody there but us that he would have us kicked out of the hotel. It was my wife’s birthday and she was 9 weeks post pardon after having our kid. I took this trip to help us relieve stress and I have never ever have to deal with such rude staff.

Property was clean, staff were friendly and nice. Free activities were okay but limited. Food and drinks were not great but decent overall. Beach area is limited but quite clean compared to other areas around PDC. Overall happy with our stay for the price.

Our stay at the Ocean Maya Royale was very enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and the grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. There was always activities to do during the day and in the evening.

The staff couldn't have been nicer. Some of them knew us by name by the second day. Experience Team at the rec pool made the trip worth it. Must try all the dining options, but Japanese was my favorite. Only downside was the red sea weed, which was out of their control. Loved it!

Our trip was from august 1st 2025 to august 6th 2025. As soon as we arrived we were treated amazing. First I want to give a special thank you to Alexis Pearson and victor from entertainment/ experience they were so welcoming and filled with job, when requested for her, you can feel that they help with their hearts! All staff are nice, the facility is wonderful, many activities and many things to do! I do not have any complains. This is by far the best hotel in the area! This is officially my go to for future travels! Good job ocean maya royale you have won our hearts :)

Overall, this property was decent. However, I don't think I would recommend this property to anyone. I would like to start by saying that the wait staff and bartenders were all great - friendly and efficient. The resort didn't seem to care about my gluten allergies. They would ask about allergies each time you entered a restaurant, but they wouldn't offer any accommodations for it. Overall, there weren't a ton of options for food midday. There wasn't a place to just get a burger and fries if you wanted something at 2PM. There was an option for pizza, but often times they were "out" (plus not a GF option for me). The power went off in our room several times. The inconvenience of not having AC or an outlet to charge a phone was irritating. Apparently the beach and pool area also closed at 8:00, but there were not signs posted that said that. We had left our stuff on the beach while we grabbed supper only to return to it missing. We were told that they "swept" the beach of all items at 8:00PM each day. We made several attempts to retrieve our items from Lost & Found, but were never successful. The items weren't extremely valuable (luckily) or important, but it was still frustrating to never have it returned to us.

The food is bad, especially at the Italian restaurant. I wouldn't stay there again. The waiter had a terrible attitude. And the saddest thing is that if you spoke English, the treatment was very different than if you spoke Spanish. They should change the menu.

Food options, activities and cleanliness all were on point. Unfortunately, although it is not the hotels fault, but the seaweed and sewage smell that came from it, made for an unpleasant experience. You could not go in the beach, or eat nearby because the smell would ruin your appetite.

I enjoy the all-inclusive resort. I enjoy the swimming pool. The party pool was a lot of fun. 0 The staff really tried hard to entertain us and I enjoyed them bringing drinks to me. Also, the seafood buffet was excellent as all the other food in the buffet area. Also, the small Mexican restaurant by the pool is very very good. I went back there a few times. Also they made pizza by the pool which was excellent. The animals were very much a delight. Toca boat cruise to an island and it was tons of fun. His crew was very accommodating
