The rooms are really run down, cracks and patches and stains throughout the paint work on the wal, timbers water damaged (doors, frames, skirting’s), furniture is super old (bed is very squeaky, damaged, stained). They also don’t do a thorough clean, cob webs everywhere even around the bed frame, dead bugs throughout, dust build up on surfaces that should really be wiped down in between customers, not sure when the last time the carpet was steamed. You need to do a balancing act to try to turn off the water, a millimetre out and the water won’t stop running. We paid an extra $50 per room for an earlier check in at 12pm because they need to ensure the rooms are prepared for our stay, not sure what cleaning and prep they did for the extra payment.
The rooms are right next to each other but there’s hardly any soundproofing, we could hear next doors TV on all evening.
And the worst part, the AC in our room was old so when we turned it on, being a bit more into the country there’s lot of bugs especially at night. They must have been hiding in the AC unit so once we turned it on it caused a disgusting bug infestation. The AC unit is right in front of the bed so, as you can imagine, it’s evening time after reception is closed, tiny little bugs covering the bed and everywhere else. Given that bugs are so prevalent in the area, I don’t understand why they don’t do a quick spray of the room after a guest has left then clean, just a generic spray from Woolworths or Coles, $5 bucks.
