Pleasant hotel in Porto

The transport to the hotel is definitely an adventure. It’s a very comfortable journey in Telsla with a professional driver. The room is small but clean and well equipped. It’s quite a distance to the city center though. There’re a few restaurants at the end of the street. Good service at reception👍I enjoy the stay.

I can not say enough about the Hotel Jaguar. The staff is more than exceptional. The rooms are very clean and complimentary amenities are provided to include a glass of wine or liquor, fruit plate, and cookies. Even the restaurant serves excellent meals. It is a little bit of a walk to city center and the river, but I like that. If someone does not like to walk ubers and cabs are very economical. I definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

Staff went out of their way consistently to give us the best possible experience. Free shuttle from the airport in a Tesla was 1st class! Manager Marta couldn’t do enough to help us when ever we had a question or issue.

Lovely quirky hotel. Room had everything one would need and the bed was very comfortable. Nice shower and selection of fresh fruit was a bonus. Probably the friendliest staff I have ever encountered in a hotel. Breakfast was very good and we had dinner one night in the restaurant which was excellent and good value. The area is quite uninteresting but the metro is about 4 minutes walk away and three stops from the centre. Will definitely return.

Extra touches like fresh fruit, water, and biscuits in the room were great. Complimentary glass of port upon arrival. Lovely decor. Only complaint is my tv didn't work, but I had no time for it anyway. Close to metro station. Extremely helpful staff.

The hotel did not have charging plug-ins for phones, and they did not have adapters or extra chargers at the front desk. The staff was really helpful when I lost my wallet and the subway is very close.

The staff was friendly. I did not like the blanket sewn between the sheets. If you get too warm and just want sheet that was impossible. Other than that it was very nice and like everything in life I've experienced, there is usually a standout that made things even nicer. For Hotel Jaguar, that standout is Marta, the concierge. Such a lovely young lady with so much knowledge, advice and you feel her need to want to help others. She truly is a plus for this hotel. Thank you Marta and thank you Hotel Jaguar for having such a wonderful employee.

Booked my first trip to Portugal 3 weeks before heading to Porto and didnt do research on where to stay. But I am very pleased i selected to stay at Hotel Jaguar! I really enjoyed staying in a local area that is conveniently located to the center of Porto. The metro was an easy walk, easy and quick travel to the Sao Bento stop and to Gaia. The staff is wonderful and as a solo traveler this was very warning to me! The drivers to/from the airport were very kind and tmely. Carolina took her time checking me in and escorted me to my room; she even sent sraff to make sure my room was clean and ready since I was an early morning arrival. The evening staff warmly greeted me when I returned back to the hotel and Andre was always so accommodating. The fruit, water and chocolate wafers were so thoughtful and welcoming when i entered my room. I also enjoyed my complimentary welcome drink on my last evening. I asked the evening frint desk for a spa to ger a massage and they promptly found a great local spa within walking distance on th e same road as the hotel which was so lovely and I highly recommend (deBest Massage.) I would definitely stay at Hotel Jaguar again. Porto city center is lovely but very bustling with tourists, traffic and workers that it was such a nice respite to feel like a local, take an inexpensive metro ride a few stops and be in a quiet lical neighborhood with shops, restaurants and a beautiful church which I attended for Palm Sunday Mass.
