“The property was being remodeled. I got there and was told, after calling the owner a couple of times before getting a return call, that the reservation was made in error. It was a busy holiday weekend. I had to find another place to stay which I did but it was farther from where I wanted to be and with no view or ambience at a higher rate. ”

“Upon arrival we were told not to mention it was a VRBO and that we are the host’s cousins. Upon alerting customer service of this and the notice in the elevator stating short term rentals are not allowed, they said the host said the notice is old and no longer relevant, and the most they could do is a 50$ refund as it did not classify as part of the guarantee to find a place. We left, contacted the general manager of the building, and confirmed it was not allowed to be rented. We contacted VRBO……
