Although it is an externally beautiful, iconic building, the staff was nice, and the room clean, we still had a terrible stay due to the terrible HVAC system and poorly designed curtains.
We stayed on the second floor. The floor and room were exceptionally hot and uncomfortable, made worse by the AC vents being in the ceiling BEHIND the curtains (the only window coverings). When the curtains were closed, there was little to cooking. With the windows open, you find yourself trying to sleep with streetlights glaring at eye level.
PROS: Beautiful, famous building, nice staff, clean, quiet
CONS: Hot, lousy AC and light control due to poorly designed window treatments.
I teach art history and was excited to stay in this iconic building. It kills me to leave this bad review.
