The hotel is much older than expected upon arrival. Many of the rooms, furniture, decoration, etc. are outdated.
The staff is very kind, attentive and quick to please. I enjoyed how pleasant they all were.
The breakfast is great and everything was hot. There was a dedicated employee to make sure all options stayed available.
However, the room was pretty underwhelming.. we stayed in room 200 (luxury king suite).
Pros:
-Beautiful views of the “garden’” and a kiss of Prescott (it was raining with fog- very pretty)
-The room is HUGE
-The balcony is large with big windows
-Fireplace is nice and warm
Cons:
-The room smells AWFUL. The entire room smells of body odor and meldew. It is nauseating and there was no relief from it.
-The future was dirty. I would find stains, food crusted on it, crumbs from prior guests on the living room furniture. It was gross. I needed to lay down our baby planets on the couch, then use spare toss blankets before sitting on them.
-When turning off the fireplace, a couple flames continued to stay lit which made me feel unsteady and scared. I am glad there was a carbon monoxide detector in the room.
-Yellow/green dirty and stains in the walls of the bathroom. Looked like body fluids…gross.
-The bathtub/spa sits 2ft away from the kitchen and leaving the tub, exists directly onto carpet. I’m not sure if this is where the mildew smell comes from but all I could imagine was how much water is trapped in the carpet (which was very old)
