Aroha Island eco retreat is a 12ha sanctuary in the Kerikeri Inlet and is a short 12km drive north east of Kerikeri, in the stunning Bay of Islands. It’s the perfect place to relax and connect with nature. A causeway links the island to the mainland, providing convenient vehicle access. It is a natural haven with a wide diversity of New Zealand plants and birds including the rare North Island Brown Kiwi. When you stay on the island you can self-guide to look for the kiwi in their natural habitat. Our staff will advise you of how to increase your chances of seeing them. During the day you can stroll the private beach, take a bush walk, explore the mangroves and look for birds. Please note because of the presence of Kiwi & the sensitive nature of the island, there is “No Pets, No Smoking and No Fires” on Aroha Island. Thank you.
