Private beach and pretty good restaurants. The new Asian Rest. was very good, an improvement on the old one. Lovely views and outstanding views from the room , which was also a very nice room in everyway. I did not like the new partnership and things like trying to get me to attend a presentation from the hotel group. I go on vacation to get away from pressure, not be pressured.

This resort has many pros and lots of cons. Here are a few things my husband and I liked about this hotel. Location: great location, 10 minute drive from the malecón and shopping. It sits on a private beautiful beach. Great for walking and no rocks. Room: we stayed in the regular tower in an ocean view king with balcony. Our room was fantastic, very comfortable and clean. Food: the buffet was great for breakfast, and the coffee shop has delicious coffee and pastries. We enjoyed the Italian, Asian, and steakhouse restaurants for dinner. Cabana: for a fee you can rent a cabana for the day. Highly recommend! Great service and you get to order food. Pools: we liked the pools, they were a great temperature to cool off but tiles would come off. Here are some issues with the hotel. There was only one working elevator for the building so we had to wait a few minutes to get on the elevator. The bathrooms all had the same stinky sewer smell. All other Hyatt hotels we have stayed at have super clean bathrooms so we were shocked that these bathrooms were terrible. Renovations at the gym so we didn’t get a nice ocean view when we worked out. The hotel in general is outdated and there is no lobby bar. Service varies. They need more workers. There is also no pool service menu to order food unless you rent a cabana. Restaurants require reservations to guarantee seating or you may have to wait. They need to focus more on service and renovating to make it a 5 star hotel.

We had a great trip at Hyatt Ziva PV. Everything was fairly clean, we loved our room, staff was kind, and the property had beautiful views on the ocean and mountains. Service was always quick and we had everything we needed at any time. Chairs for the pool were easy to find, the resort didn't feel over packed, and concierge was excellent with getting taxis for us and coordinating our rides to a from the airport. The only downsides of the trip were a few things not in the property's control (construction/noise, single elevator in one of the guest towers, and vendors on the beach/at the edge of the pool). And a few things they could control, food was just ok - we ended up eating dinner in town the last two nights and were so happy we did. Also the salesmen for Playa were a lot. We got hunted down by the same salesman so many times that we ended up avoiding the lobby all together.

Staff was very friendly, attentive and professional, really makes the difference. Dining options and food/drinks very good. Property has many nice pools and the private beach is fantastic not having to deal with vendors selling items on the beach.

Amazing experience, I enjoyed having our own private beach. The food options were amazing. The staff was so amazing and friendly. I recommend staying in the club tower for a better experience.

Just returned from our six-day, five-night vacation at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta yesterday and had an amazing time! They are working on a little construction, but that's just an example of their commitment to excellence and constant customer satisfaction. I thoroughly enjoyed the Vitamar Spa (Veronica was wonderful!). We also enjoyed seeing employees we'd seen since our first visits when the property was still Dreams (this is our seventh time in fifteen years between Dreams and now Hyatt Ziva). Miguel and Luis at the pool bar were as wonderful as ever and are true examples of exemplary service. Additionally, Orlando at the pool bar was so friendly, professional, and personable! He was so great to talk to and we look forward to talking to him again during our visit next year. Also, a shout-out to Jahir at the teppanyaki bar, whose food and friendliness were amazing! Large, clean rooms with great views. Food is okay, management is great and willing to help where needed without question. The only thing is that resort is rates as family friendly, but it gets pretty loud at night because of a lot of events (weddings, etc.). Also the beach is very nice and clean, but the waves are large, so not recommended for kids.
