Check in was horrible, lots of patience required. Gold key perks are not honored at this resort. Expedia and Barcelo are both misinforming and neither attempts to rectify anything. Expedia shows on their website that 24 hr room service is included in junior suite. That is not the case. The only time it is included is if you’re premium, eventhough I was told by Expedia as well as the Barcelo that Gold One Key status receives it as well. I’m not a foodie, but food was subpar. Most a la carte restaurants served food luke warm. The website makes it seem like there are more than one buffet, there’s only one and only one swim up bar. The resort accommodates too many people for the pools, buffet and restaurants. The service is very slow if you’re able to get someone to assist you. The balcony jacuzzi had issues. Overall, this resort does not compare to the one in Riviera Maya and is somewhat disappointing.

Dirty, rooms air conditioning not cooling enough air conditioning waa leaking at front door mind you i had two rooms both on the exsact conditions everything felt old and out dated one of the rooms balcony doors was pried openned at some point from outside , food was horrible bland and tastelessness beer was warm everywhere, pools had too much chlorine and the premium level is a waste of money , the private premium level concierge is a joke more lines than the regular check in and out 0 stars i will never go back there

The hotel rooms are very old, they need to be renovated. The sun loungers on the beach are terrible, they are 20 years old and they are very dirty and no one cleans them at all.

The property is nice, room was good. We were told several services included and or upgrades with Expedia gold status and none were honored. Staff was rude at best and we all in our group were generously tipping. Food was average with only a couple of the specialty a la cart restaurants being any better than the buffet. Definitely would not stay at this resort again if returning.

Una estadía de primera desde la muchacha que no atendió en la recepción y el señor Pedro que fue el encargado de guiarnos y hacer que nuestra estadía fuera maravillosa. El servicio en este hotel es de primera desde los meseros en los restaurantes en los bares, los muchachos de las actividades náuticas, los muchachos de la recreación nos sentimos muy bien atendidos sin duda volvería a hospedarme en el Barceló Babaro Palace

Property was nice and walkable however very large. Plenty of pools to pick from. There was no dining options that are convenient if your at the pool or beach for the day. All dining options were buffet dining room or 24 sport bar but you were not allowed in wet and you were not allowed to leave with any food. The room we received originally was not the room we booked ,the front desk did correct it. The room we stayed in had cracks in the walls/hole, 2 broken TVs and was above an empty room there were doing construction on so from breakfast to dinner it was demolition sounds, saws, power tools and lots of banging.

Started out with a very slow and chaotic check in process. The rooms were rundown and not very clean, mold in the shower, hair on the floor and stained sheets. The food is terrible. You have to find a few staples to eat and stick with those to get through your time there. Thankfully we brought a carry on full of snacks! The gym is dirty. The pools were refreshing but the drink were not. Stick to the Micheladas cause then you know you are at least getting alcohol. Hard liquor is very watered down. Can’t comment on the spa since we did not use it. Overall the staff was not friendly and not accommodating. Never smiled. Felt like you were putting them out or inconveniencing them. 90% of the staff spoke zero English. I realize it’s the DR but at least in Mexico staff is friendly and makes an effort to communicate. In the DR they just said “no English…” some would try and help with google translate which was helpful. Mid week we found the adult only side of the resort which made the final 3 days of our trip bearable. Food was a little better and staff was much more friendly. We cut our trip 2 days and left early so we could get home. I wish I could write a good review cause we were so looking forward to our trip but if I can help save someone’s time and money they will appreciate it.

Our butler Jesus was great at making sure the room was up to our standards, everything was in good and working condition. He made reservations for the restaurants and his choices were great. The Spanish restaurant in our last night was delicious. He was a great help!

Cleaning is good swimming pools well maintenance, food is nothing special. It’s OK, but it is always basically the same every day ,check in what’s a disaster they were super slow. They were planes with no signs no nothing. Like I said it’s OK but I wouldn’t come back.

The hotel was great. A lot of activities for a week. The service was sometimes slow when it came to restaurants and buffets so come prepared to do certain things yourself or it will take a while.

My stay at Barceló Bávaro Palace was truly unforgettable. The resort is absolutely beautiful, with pristine beaches, lush grounds, and a wide variety of restaurants and activities. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a stunning view. What really stood out was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff everyone from the front desk to the restaurant servers went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The pools and entertainment options were also top-notch, and we never ran out of things to do. The location is ideal right on one of the best beaches in Punta Cana, and it feels both luxurious and relaxing. I highly recommend this resort and would definitely return!
