The service and cleanliness were absolutely phenomenal. It was not very crowded on the beach or in the play pool. The exhale club breakfast was amazing and the exhale club Pool was absolutely perfect. The vendors on the beach could be a bit much but if you speak to them in Spanish and are polite, they will walk away. All we said was no thank you have a good day. There were a variety of dinner options; many of them in air-conditioned rooms. Be sure to get a reservation for hibachi. It was excellent. We were very glad our concierge recommended it when we arrived. Also be sure you get the sancocho at Sofrito.

The only thing that I did not care for was the fact that they did not provide shuttles buses to and from the airport. I had to find my way in an uber to get to the resort and I felt very uneasy about that. Especially since there was a language barrier. I would have paid for the shuttle bus but I would have felt safer knowing that the resort sent the driver.

There’s no shortage of dining options, especially with access to both Breathless and Dreams Onyx. Plus, the waterpark at Dreams is a great bonus not just for kids, adults can enjoy it too! What truly made our stay unforgettable was the staff. Iveli Castillo and Janna were incredible they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and played a huge role in helping me pull off a surprise for my partner. They made it all come together perfectly. Frank and Ari, the cart drivers, were always so friendly and helpful. Frantz and Junior at the swim-up bar at Breathless kept the energy fun and relaxed. Jan from the Xhale Club restaurant, along with Peter, Anthony, and McGuill at the Dreams swim-up bar in the waterpark, were also fantastic. And Marty at the beach towel hut was great as always. This was our second time staying here, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

We have been to Breathless several times and this was by far the worst of the experiences for several reasons. The rooms were old and in need of updates and repairs The staff didn’t have the same energy as it’s had in past visits And lastly, while the sargassum is not something they could control, they certainly could have kept the beaches cleaner with better organization and a better plan for making it minimally useable. They didn’t try to put up barriers or detractors until the last day we were there, while other resorts had these up the entire season. I would not recommend visiting until they correct a lot of these issues.

The experience was up and down during my stay. On the first night there we were sent in two different directions to check in and no one communicated that we had already been checked in and it took about an hour for staff get us to our room, and they became upset that we didn’t explain to them what the staff notified us they had already explained to the driver. The area was clean and so were the rooms. Most staff members were rude with us, especially the females. On the final night, I ordered room service and the deliverer handed me a hot plate off a skillet without saying a word or notifying me it was hot, I immediately dropped the plate and yelled, he then sat the plates down and ran from the room. When I called management they asked if I wanted to walk to the doctor at 2:30am, and I asked if they could come to me because we were checking out in the am and needed sleep, and he stated no I had to go to them and that they would give me Ice. It caused a 2 degree burn that’s showed in the picture I posted. The manager gave me ice, left and no one followed to see if I was okay.
