“Accommodation is as described. Clean and tidy. Comfortable beds and couch. For elderly parents it was easy access in and out of the cottage. I wasn't keen on the toilet and shower in the same space, but we made do. The cottage is behind John's place, next to the avocado orchard. Weirdly, this wasn't an issue, and didn't feel intrusive as we hardly saw or heard John as ran his daily errands. We saw more of his dog Bo. “The Shell Cottage was a perfect accommodation for us for a few days while we explored the Aupouri Peninsula. The cottage was very clean, well stocked with everything we needed and right next door to grocery, take away, restaurant - and liquor!! Also loved walking down to the wharf every morning and at sunset to watch to world go by. Lisa was a great host and was very responsive to any questions we had. Would definitely recommend!!”

“My husband and I stayed at this home for 3 nights in February 2023. Everything about the stay was perfect. The home is positioned on a corner next to a quiet boat launch which made for easy access to the beach (which was beautiful - we swam every day!). The features of the home created an outdoor living space with their big windows and retractable sunshades.
