I have stayed at this location several times while getting medical treatment in Chapel Hill and been very pleased with the hotel. So naturally I made my reservation at your hotel for 1/7/25 without any concern. Upon arrival, the front desk employee was most welcoming and obviously is extremely well versed in quality customer service. My problem came when she asked if I had read the sign about parking and I asked her to elaborate and I am told that there is now a second bill I must pay to be able to park my car!! If this was the case, a guest with a reservation should have been informed of this at the time the reservation was being made. The website did not mention a parking fee and I have never paid one before. It was $11 to park and my thought is that should have been incorporated into the room fee if it was that important. I do not know what led to this situation, but as a customer Iif you can’t provide a spot for customers to park, then they would not be staying it your hotel. Honestly this may become a deal breaker for me, as I feel that was the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak. And to put the final wrench in my stay - I grabbed a cup of coffee, orange juice and a yogurt for breakfast - the yogurt was half of a serving! Has business gotten that bad that you can’t serve a serving of yogurt and have customers pay to park. Very disappointed in Holiday Inn Express, as your hotels had always been my choice of hotels for overnight business trips.
