Our group of five stayed for two weeks over June and July. The house is spacious, comfortable, and nicely appointed with a well-equipped kitchen.HighlightsThe deck was a favorite spot, offering sun and shade from morning to evening, a working gas grill, and excellent chairs. We made great use of the dock, lake, and provided water equipment. Seeing local wildlife and the friendly, waving neighbors were also positives. The secret room in the kids' room was a crowd pleaser. DrawbacksSeveral significant issues impacted our stay. The entire basement was unusable due to a strong musty odor. A noisy overnight camp on the adjacent property, sharing our waterfront, was not disclosed beforehand. Contrary to expectations, the lake is not visible from the house or deck due to trees.Access to the water is challenging via 22 steep, uneven granite steps with no handrail, posing a risk for anyone with stability concerns.Maintenance & CleanlinessWe encountered maintenance problems, including a broken vacuum, an overheating mixer, and a non-functional garage keypad. Much of the cooking equipment (pans, stovetop, grill) was dirty upon arrival. The linens were a collection of old, stained towels and sheets, and we found mold in the washing machine. These issues existed when we arrived and should have been addressed before we came, but were not. While a nice place, it does not live up to its "luxury" claim.
