This "resort" was a modern hotel with comfortable rooms and beds situated right on the boardwalk overlooking the ocean. The price quoted by Expedia was not accurate as we were charged a "resort fee" of $50 per night and for parking, also $50 per day. What makes no sense is that because it was off season, all the outdoor areas as well as the pool were closed off so there was no reason for that fee. The discounted attractions at Pier Village were also closed. We would have opted out of valet parking, but the only other option was a parking garage nearby that would have charged a similar amount.
What really surprised me for a seaside hotel was that there was no way to open a window to the terrace, only the door leading to it. So in the warmer months, unless you keep the door open, the room is sealed shut. I can't imagine why anyone would like that.
Though the staff were very nice and helpful, we felt ripped off by the excessive costs. We were told that in the summer, the rates are doubled. I appreciate the proximity to NYC and convenience, but it does not warrant those prices.
