This is a difficult review to write and a difficult hotel experience to rate. It may be that you would rate it differently, so I am going to lay out what I liked and why it still only gets two stars.
1. Dog friendly. Just outside the sliding door of our room was a green space with dog clean up bags, so caring for that need was very convenient.
2. Food available late and also able to bring dogs. The food was decent - not fabulous but tasty and the service was friendly.
3. A clean room with a comfy king size bed. The room amenities were also good.
3. Pool and hot tub.
4. The building was interesting. It's older but is somehow charming, like a somewhat faded resort with lots a character. It was easy to navigate and I liked its ambiance.
What I didn't like:
1. Loud music late into the night. It turned out that the bar had opened their doors and were blaring the music all the way across the lawn. We were several hundred feet away and it was loud in our room with the windows closed.
2. The noise scared my dog and she trembled all night. We gave her anxiety medication and put her in her thunder coat but she had a hard night and so did I, since she stood on my face when she was upset. It went on until 11 or 12.
So, it gets 2 stars because the reason to visit a hotel is, first and foremost, to sleep and they made decisions that greatly interfered with my ability to sleep.
If, however, you want to stay up late and party, this might be a good place for you.
