I have two main complaints about the hotel. First, there wasn't enough storage. There was a low, two-drawer cabinet for our clothes. A taller, four-drawer cabinet could easily fit in the same floor space and would be more appropriate for a hotel room. Second, the traffic on Hamilton St. is very noisy, especially in the morning. After the first night, we asked for and were given a different room on the other side of the hotel, away from Hamilton. Much better mornings after that!
One morning before 9 AM (we're not early risers), someone from the hotel cleaning staff came knocking loudly and insistently on our door to ask if we needed towels! Be sure to put the "do not disturb" sign on the outside door handle if you don't want a rude awakening!
The restaurant downstairs has a very limited menu. We didn't eat there. The neighborhood is not appealing, although there are some decent restaurants within walking distance.
Aside from that, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable enough. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Richmond, but the hotel was adequate at best.
