Mountain View Cabin

You know, I came to this area for over twenty years before I finally purchased and retired here. I spent twelve years travelling in the Music business and have traveled all over the world. There are very few places in the world like Ridgway. I am amazed at the continuing outdoor activity that never seems to stop. It just transitions from winter activities, skiing, cross country ski, ice climbing, snowmobiles, snow boarding and on and on. Then we transition in to Spring and all that goes with it, from Mountain Climbing, Hiking, Jeep Trails to die for, Fishing, Boating, Motorcycling and on and on. The beauty that surrounds this little community is surreal. When I purchased this perfectly located property it had This beautiful log home rental with spectacular views of the Cimarron and the San Juan Mountains. The cabin is now a fully furnished mountain retreat with everything you will need for a comfortable, affordable stay. Private road with lots of wildlife. Beautiful old Cottonwood trees with an old tire swing. A creek runs through the pasture keeping the grass lush and green. Enjoy the panoramic mountain views. Far enough away from civilization, yet walking distance to town! Located on a farm with lots of wildlife. Only 26 miles from the nearest airport. 2 miles to the famous Ouray Hot springs. 9 miles to Ouray, an easy drive to the Ice Climbing Park off of Camp Bird Mine Rd. and Imogene Pass, renowned for Jeeping and 4x4s. 35 Miles from the Ski Lifts in Telluride. If you think you like staying in Telluride, then you should try this very special Gem in Ridgway. You will be surprised at how open things feel in this Valley. The town is full of incredible restaurants and close to all of the restaurants in Ouray. Join us at the Mountain View Cabin for your next stay in the area.

Mountains everywhere!
It was mesmerizing waking in the loft and looking out at the mountains in the morning. The San Juans are my favorite mountains in Colorado. This place was perfect. Easy access to Ouray and Telluride, with nice food and coffee in Ridgway. Just a chill and relaxed time — I love it.

Wonderful Cabin

Return visit to Ridgway
My friends and I came back after staying here last year. Mark and his wife are wonderful hosts and completely available and engaging. He clearly spends a lot of time and effort on not only maintaining but improving this property. Since last year, he added a beautiful fire pit with wonderful furniture and a great patio for outdoor dining. My only hesitation in leaving this review is I want it to be available for us again next year!

Picturesque Cabin and Exceptional Host
We will be back!! Myself and 3 friends stayed here for one night during a cross country motorcycle trip. It’s the first place we’ve stayed that was hard to leave :) We would have loved to stay another few days just to take in more of the surrounding sites. I just can’t say enough about how wonderful it was. We plan to make it an annual visit.

Lovely Colorado Cabin
This place has become a must on our anniversary! Our second time staying here to celebrate 17 years of being married and we could not have been more pleased. Mark and Sai take excellent care of this property and there have been several new additions since our last visit. They added a wonderful outdoor eating space-fully equipped with a grill and outdoor seating! If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful Colorado getaway then look no further! We cant wait to return.

What a beautiful warm cabin
This is a beautiful warm cabin.It was close to town and paths but great to lookout at the wild life and mountains as I read near the flame of the wood pellet stove. The hosts were friendly and helpful.They live next store but the cabin is private. There's a wonderful patio with grill to enjoy in warmer weather. A last minute find that I will return to.

Magical place
This cabin was just magical. When we arrived Mark, the host, had the fireplace on, and it felt very warm and cozy. The window provided an amazing view of the mountains. The beds were so comfortable, it felt like home. Mark would check up on us to make sure if we needed anything. Always on top of everything to provide a pleasant stay for us. We had the chance to chat with Mark a couple of times, and we had great conversations. He made us feel at home. My family and I felt very welcome during our stay. We look forward to coming back to Colorado and staying here again. Thank you Mark

A truly lovely log cabin
If you like Ridgway and cabins, this is the place. We have been visiting Ridgeway for over 30 years and the cabin is truly the best located. We had never stayed in a log cabin before and found it very well built and comfortable. Mark the manager was terrific from the moment we arrived. Cabin was well appointed in all respects. Would recommend this cabin for family or small group. We will definitely be back!

The Best!
We wish we could give an extra star! We wish we had arranged to stay longer! This is a beautiful, clean log house with a wall of windows from top floor to bottom floor. Comfortable beds! The view was phenomenal. We saw so much wildlife right around the house from every window we looked out, including white-tailed bucks doing sparring practice. Dark sky at night for star-gazing, meteor-watching. Easy drives to spectacular places like Telluride, Ouray, Black Canyon. The house is on its own huge property but it's a short, easy drive to get to town to go shopping, etc. The hosts are so nice. On-the-spot communication when you need them, non-intrusive if you don't.

Must stay!
We cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was here. The host was responsive and the home was so beautiful. This is a great place to stay for all seasons. We stayed in August where we went jeeping and did day trips to Silverton and Ouray. And we did plenty of porch sitting.

Breathtaking Property + Best Hosts = Unforgettable Vacation
My wife and two friends booked Mark and Sai’s place for our weeklong trip to the San Juan region to hike and ride Jeep trails. Hands down, this is perhaps the best (of many) rentals I’ve ever experienced. The property is amazing. It’s the perfect balance of private mountain views, yet so close to both Ridgway and Ouray. The log cabin, the barn, the cows, it’s all incredible. Mark and Sai live onsite in the house next door - they are so friendly and hospitable. They care for the cabin rental like it’s their own. Top appliances, mattresses, and amenities - all first class. I would book this again a thousand times over. I can’t wait to return!

Great location in Ridgway
I stayed with a couple of friends for a few days of hiking and canyoneering. The log cabin is beautiful and very well-appointed. A lot of small thoughtful things like hooking up the Keurig directly to water so it doesn't have to be refilled. The kitchen was great and my friend who likes to cook really enjoyed it. The rest of the cabin was equally nice and we particularly liked staying out on the patio, having drinks and enjoying the view of the valley and mountains. Mark (who lives on the property) is a wonderful, gracious host and we enjoyed getting to know him. Can't wait to go back.

Wonderful Cabin Stay!!
We had a great stay at the cabin just outside of Ridgeway. Great country feel and minutes to town. Great roomy Cabin. Excellent hosts. Checkin process very smooth. The location with killer views of the big mountain and laid back feel of Ridgeway was perfect for our family. We have an 8 month old and the host even had a crib set up and ready for us!! Would love to come back and stay again.

If you are reading reviews on this property to help solidify your decision, read no further. Pull the trigger on this RIGHT NOW! You’re welcome. We made a last minute booking for our anniversary/birthday weekend and we are so happy we did! If a vacation rental could encapsulate all that is CO, this is it. The fresh air, natural hot springs and wild animals all around us. The picture perfect views of the mountains are absolutely breathtaking, the rustic beauty of the cabin and surrounding landscape are priceless and the hospitality of the owners will leave you feeling like you came to visit a family member. (The ones you actually like) Everything you need is here and they take great care to ensure that you are comfortable. We had a bottle of “adult grape juice” waiting for us upon arrival to celebrate our special occasion (Mahalo guys). The cabin was extra clean and fully stocked with toiletries, a commercial keurig, pot/pans, linens, pamphlets for local activities and even menus for the nearby restaurants! This place does NOT disappoint. We can’t wait to return.
