Directly behind the old Spring Valley Church is our 600 sq ft studio apartment with a full kitchen and bathroom with a claw foot tub. In addition, the studio has a wood burning stove, queen sized bed, internet access and both heating and air conditioning. You can’t even see our closest neighbors so there’s lots of peace and privacy out here in the country.
The church, which started out as a school house but that’s a whole other story, hasn’t been used as a church since the early 70’s. Basically the church has been standing sentry to cow pastures in the middle of America for the last 50 years. I’ve spent the last two years fixing it up the parsonage. Next is fixing up the church itself for weddings and other gatherings.
At the moment the church is under construction so, for the time being, off limits. But we do have 40 acres behind the church so when the cows are out of the pasture guests are welcome to explore how the church got its name.
It’s important to know that the parsonage comes with a friendly outside cat named Lucky. So if you have an issue with cats… well this place is probably not for you. But if you love animals and especially wildlife then you’ll love this place.
