This lovingly restored holiday home is part of an imposing 19th century estate. Conjure up delicious meals together in the open-plan, well-equipped kitchen and celebrate your meals in the inviting dining area right next door. After long excursions, relax in the living room with its cosy seating, light the fireplace on cooler days and reflect on your experiences with a glass of local wine.



Stroll out onto your sun-drenched gravelled terrace and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Refresh yourself in the communal pool and use the extensive gardens to recharge your batteries. Round off the balmy summer evenings with an atmospheric barbecue in the open air.



Go on a cycle tour through the vineyards or along the Loire. Visit impressive castles such as the Château de Chinon or the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau. Go wine tasting and savour the local cuisine in the region's charming restaurants.



Please note that: Bed linen and towels are not included in the room rate in 2025; guests must rent them at the property for an additional charge of EUR 17.00 per person. Consumption costs are not included in the room rate and will be charged according to guest use within three weeks after check-out. Outdoor pool on site shared with other guests is open May - end September.

Beau gite à proximité de nombreux sites touristiques

Très bon accueil. Gîte grand, calme, bien aménagé, avec du cachet, cheminée… espace extérieur sécurisé pour les enfants. Les propriétaires sont très discrets. La visite du chai est intéressante tant sur le plan des techniques de vinification que sur l’histoire de la région et de ses habitants. Un coin à revenir.

Great Area for cycling and kayaking

A great stay overall. Hubert the Chateau owner is very friendly and helpful. The bedroom we stayed in was huge. We stayed the third week of september so a little chilly in the mornings when you got out of the shower!! Kitchen is fully equipped and a lovely big table for everyone to eat around inside and out. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with plenty of cycle paths and Chinon is 3 miles away and easily walked/cycled to. All in all a great stay.

Wij deelden het zwembad en de wijn met de graaf Hubert de Monteynard van Chateau Rivière.

Omdat wij als familie: opa en oma, kinderen en drie kleinkinderen in de leeftijd van 1 tot en met 6 jaar geïnteresseerd waren in wijnproeverijen, kwamen wij terecht in Rivière. 's Morgens kastelen en wijnproeverijen bezoeken en 's middags het zwembad voor ons alleen. Dat maakte de keus niet zo moeilijk.

Fantastisch huis op een mooi chateau

Super fijne vakantie gehad in dit ruime en nette huis. Eigenlijk zijn het 2 appartementen en iedere slaapkamer heeft zijn eigen badkamer. De omgeving is prachtig, super fijn zwembad. Hubert en zijn vrouw zijn heel gastvrij en we komen zeker nog een keer terug!

Gorgeous gite, beautiful location, welcoming host

We were lucky enough to spend a week in this gorgeous gite in Riviere with some friends. The building is the former stables of the chateau and has been renovated beautifully to showcase the old wooden beams and stonework. The owner, Hubert, was incredibly welcoming and friendly, giving us a tour of the gite on arrival, and allowing us to wander around the chateau property as we liked. Well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer, comfortable beds, plenty of towels. There is wood provided for the cosy fireplace, and great outdoor seating to enjoy all the Autumn sunshine that we were lucky enough to have. The medieval town of Chinon is about 5 minutes drive away, and has two large supermarkets, lots of smaller food shops, a range of restaurants, cafes and wine stores, and lots to see and do. The breathtaking River Vienne is only a couple of hundred metres from the front door, and provides a great walking track along the river bank. I would highly recommend a stay at this property!
