I work in sales and I'm in this area every other week. It just so happened that Metallica was playing a concert the evening that I usually would have stayed. Every hotel that I usually stay in was booked, and this was the last available room in this motel 6. I placed the order was billed, and received my confirmation number and itinerary. So naturally I assumed that was that, I was good. When I finally got to the hotel, it was around 12:30 in the morning and I was told that my booking was canceled. It was like pulling teeth trying to get a hold of somebody who could help me through Expedia. Ultimately none of them were able to help me since it was past midnight they couldn't book a room for the previous day, so I was on my own. They offered to refund me the cost of the room, or if I was able to find another room, they would reimburse me. Once again, that took a lot of effort and speaking to four different Representatives until something happened. I stayed in a really run down hotel for double the money that I paid for this room and only ended up having the room for about 5 hours. They told me that my order should have never processed and that the room had already been booked, even though it was available on their site and on Expedia site
