“We found a lot to love about Herbst Cottage! While the layout is a little unconventional (the huge master bedroom is the only direct route in and out of the house to the back decks and pool), the spaces were big enough for 10 people, and the places we were most interested in, which were the kitchen, backyard/pool, and beach access, were really great. Well equipped with the exception of broken dishwashers (both indoor and tiki bar were broken most of the week) and a leaking ice machine. Response……

“We loved our week at Outer Banks. Our extended family traveled together- ages 8 to 80. It was perfect! The beach was beautiful and felt private, as there were rarely more than 5 other families nearby. The swimming pool gave a great alternative to the waves for the kids and the hot tub was an amazing way to relax in the evenings! Had everything we needed in the kitchen and the elevator made the whole house accessible to my elderly parents. Internet signal wasn't strong, but it allowed us to……

“This house was great & had everything we needed for a vacation! We loved the hot tub & the covered front porch. The chairs on the back deck were really nice too. The weather was cool so we didn’t use the pool but we looked at it & it was good. There are beach chairs under the house which was perfect for us since we didn’t have extra room to pack ours. There’s a water hose on each end of the house as well to was your feet & in our case spray off the windows of our vehicles bc they got terribly……

“We enjoyed our long weekend away at Stella Maris. There was plenty of room for a party of 7 adults. Only suggestion would be very minor upkeep in cleanliness (dusty vents, broom in the kitchen but no dust pan, scraps of old food in the utensils drawer). Otherwise the home was cozy, centrally located, and had gorgeous oceanfront views. Thank you for opening your home to us! ”

The host provided beach essentials, bikes, etc. which made packing for the trip that much easier.
