“Nicest private home we have ever stayed in. Tastefully restored elegant Victorian home with all modern amenities. Historical connection to the region helps make it even more special. Private large garden and patio area is lovely. We only used three of the six bedrooms most which have very comfortable king sized beds. Great place for larger groups to stay and relax.”

No-nonsense, fenced rear dog yard, cool AC, clean sheets, abundant blankets and towels, great water pressure, great location near lots of hiking and a short trip to Franklin/Oil City/Slippery Rock, and a very warm welcome from an amazing host. What more could you ask for? We would happily stay again!”

“Elk Street Retreat was everything it was advertised to be.. The house was fantastic: kitchen was well apportioned - maybe the best of all the VRBOs we've stayed at over the past 5 - 6 years. “This is an old country home. Not horrible, not ideal, at least for us. I see they've added "rustic" to the description. That's a good word. Pros: Stargazing - pretty dark at night. Beautiful skies. Area - we felt safe. No worries about being there alone at night. Nice area. Wildlife refuge nearby with hiking trails. If you have kids, you should know the house sits close to the road, which has a 45 mph speed limit. Would need to keep an eye on them. Bathroom - Large enough to feel comfortable.……
