Comfortable windmill

Located at the top of a hill offering a 360 ° view of the Chalonnaise countryside and overlooking the vineyards, this old windmill, fully restored, awaits you for a unique and unforgettable stay! Original and rare, the building seduces both by its character and by its interior comfort. On 4 levels, the rooms, all round, are both functional and warm, thanks to the exposed stones and the wood.

Ground floor: kitchen with dining area and insert fireplace (oven, ceramic hob, fridge / freezer, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, food processor, fondue and raclette set, etc.). On the 1st floor: living room with flat screen TV and 120cm sofa bed.
On the 2nd floor: shower room with WC, washing machine, hairdryer.
On the 3rd floor: bedroom with the most unusual "camembert" bed, and dressing room. The dimensions of this extraordinary bed are on the photo.
Land with orchard, garden furniture, barbecue, sunbathing, badmington ...

Weekend, mid-week and week rentals. Approved 3 ears Gîte de France.
All inclusive rates: bed linen, end of stay cleaning, heating (floor) and wood for the fireplace.
Baby equipment on request. Access to the mill by a dirt road for 400m.
"Full fridge" option: we collect your groceries from the drive, and fill the fridge before your arrival (extra € 30).

"Campfire" option: for a magical evening by the fireside, we take care of all the installation (suppl. 30 €).

We were so excited to stay in the windmill
Our experience was superb. The accommodation had everything we needed and more. The views from the bedroom were stunning and on one occasion we were able to witness the full arch of a rainbow. We had a fabulous relaxing 2 weeks at ‘Moulin a vent’, with spectacular views. Great place for exploring the local countryside, whether on foot or bicycle. Very nice market at Chalon-sur-saône and Givry. Autun, Mâcon and Cormatin worth a visit.

The fabulous old mill.
We loved the area, the landscape, the villages, the atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the nifty rebuild old mill, the friendly welcome by our host, the view and the quitness. Still only 4 km from a great supermarket and 1 km from the village. Prepare for some walking on stairs and a rough gravel road the last 500 meters to the mill; we saw it as part of the charm!

Perfect
The windmill is an exceptional place to stay. It is stunning in every way, so well designed. A lovely welcome with a tour. Lots of local information leaflets. Bed very comfortable, appliances very good, well equipped, plenty of hot water and a very good shower. Loads of outdoor space with plenty of seating and table space. Supermarket within walking distance (about 1km) a local boulangerie in the village. So much to do in the local area and for those interested excellent running and walking opportunities. We really loved our stay here and would definitely return.

Tolle ehemalige Mühle für zwei treppenfitte Personen
Die Mühle ist ein Traum! Wir waren Anfang bis Mitte April dort, vorher und vor Ort sehr freundlicher Kontakt zum Eigentümer. Merci, Stephane! Fußboden-Heizung funktioniert prima, Heißwasser auch. Vier Zimmer auf vier Etagen heißt selbstredend viel Bewegung. Das Bett ist einmalig und wie im Angebot beschrieben, ist ganz oben mit schönem Sonnenaufgang aus dem Fenster. Wir haben zu zweit prima geschlafen. Kleiner TV ist da, haben wir nicht genutzt. Runde Dusche, WC und Waschbecken sind eine Sehenswürdigkeit! In der Küche ist alles Nötige und mehr. Es ist sehr ruhig, je nach Wind hört man mal die RN, aber nicht störend. Möbel draußen sind da, die Holzsitzgruppe perfekt für Essen und Trinken mit einer wundervollen Rundum-Sicht, manchmal bis zum Mont Blanc. Radwege gut ausgebaut, e-Bike empfehlenswert 😎😛 Supermarkt unten im Ort, gute Restaurants in Buxy, Givry oder dann ins volle Challon. Wir können die Mühle nur empfehlen und haben die ruhige Zeit sehr genossen.

Unique and lovely stay
What a unique and beautiful place was created by Stéphane and Yvane. The old windmill is transformed into a very comfortable and beautiful place, which was excellent for our stay in January. The gÎte was well equipped as well. The view from the property and of course from the mill is astonishing! Merci beaucoup!

Desert
Die Mühle ist ein mit viel Liebe und Geschmack renoviertes Kleinod. Wer Ruhe und Entspannung, sowie einen unvergesslichen Ausblick sucht, der sollte es hier versuchen. Natürlich sind Radtouren und Ausflüge ins Umland jederzeit zu empfehlen. Vielen Dank an Stephane für die schönen Tage.

Nous sommes arrivés un mardi, accueillis par Stéphane, et ses enfants, Accueil super, visite du moulin avec Stéphane, les enfants nous ont fait découvrir le jardin, avec les papillons, les sauterelles et ce terrain sans vis à vis super pour se ressourcer, Le moulin, dont ma chambre est équipée de la clim, est juste parfaitement agencé et décoré, super optimisé, C'était l'endroit idéal pour notre séjour, qui fut trop court, nous reviendrons avec plaisir ! Beste Aussichten
Tatsächlich trifft die Überschrift in vielen Belangen zu. Die Aussicht ist wirklich traumhaft weit über die Hügel der südlichen Bourgogne, die Windmühle sehr gut eingerichtet für einen auch längeren Aufenthalt für zwei, der Gastgeber äußerst freundlich. Ebenfalls am Ort sind Weingüter zu finden, besonders zu empfehlen das kleine Weingut Maison Géraldine Louise, das in Sichtweite von der Windmühle gelegen ist. Die Region lädt ein zu Ausflügen mit dem Rad, entlang stillgelegter Schienenwege oder am Kanal, der Saone sowie durch die Weinberge. Givry ist nicht weit, ein kleiner, mittelalterlicher Ort mit zwei guten Restaurants, auch in Buxy wird hervorragend gekocht (1 Michelin-Stern). Die Mühle oben auf dem Hügel ist als Landmarke weit sichtbar und ein Orientierungspunkt. Ein kleiner Intermarché und eine Bäckerei im Ort Saint-Désert bieten hirneichende Versorgung, ebenfalls vorhanden ist ein Restaurant mit solider Küche.

Wundervolle Aussicht
Die Windmühle ist umwerfend schön restauriert. Man hat eine traumhafte Aussicht, und der Garten ist voller Schmetterlinge. An einem Abend hatten wir stundenlang Wetterleuchten, das war sehr beeindruckend. Die Mühle ist der perfekte Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungstouren in die Umgebung. Es gibt tolle Wander- und Radwege, man ist mitten in der Natur, fernab von allem Stress. Der Intermarché ist gut zu erreichen und hat alles, was man so braucht, nur der Bäcker hatte leider Urlaub. Im Ort gibt es ein Restaurant, wo man wirklich nett Essen gehen kann, und im benachbarten Buxy ist L'Empreinte sehr zu empfehlen. Stéphane ist ein sehr netter, hilfsbereiter Gastgeber, hat uns vom Bahnhof abgeholt und auch wieder hingebracht, und war auch vor der Reise und zwischendrin immer erreichbar. Könnte ich mehr als 5 Sterne vergeben, dann würde ich es tun, es war wirklich rundum perfekt.

Wir können uns den vorhergehenden Bewertungen nur anschließen, die Mühle ist traumhaft. Die Lage in der Nähe der vierspurigen Route nationale 80 (ca. 200m Luftlinie) hat allerdings einen Nachteil: Die Straße ist permanent als Hintergrundrauschen zu hören. Es ist zwar nicht direkt laut, aber von Stille kann keine Rede sein, da haben wir im Burgund schon an sehr viel stilleren Orten gewohnt. Wer geräuschempfindlich ist, sollte Ohrenstöpsel einpacken. Weil sonst wirklich alles gestimmt hat, geben wir trotzdem fünf Sterne.

Dem Himmel nah
Diese einzigartige, wunderbar restaurierte Mühle konnten wir 2 Wochen genießen. Herrlicher freier Rundumblick Morgensonne beim Frühstück, untergehende Abendsonne beim Abendessen, traumhafter Sternenhimmel. Es war alles dabei. Die Mühle ist perfekt restauriert mit vielen liebevollen Details, Küche, Bad alles einwandfrei, traumhaftes Bett unter der Kuppel. Die Lage ist optimal, um das Burgund zu erkunden, sowohl nördlich bis Dijon, als auch südlich bis Macon, alles seht lohnend. Wunderbare Radtouren durch die Weinberge und Weindörfer, nette Lokale in der Umgebung... ,viele Möglichkeiten etwas zu unternehmen. Vielen Dank an Yvane und Stephàne für diese wunderbare Unterkunft.

Super Getaway
Fantastic away from it all stay in a beautifully restored windmill. Even though we were only 400m from the nearest village , the hilltop location gave a wonderful feeling of isolation from the outside world . Stephane our host was most helpful and accommodating . The property is totally unique over 4 floors with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The custom made bed was extremely comfortable and the view without even getting up was amazing. The mill is well equipped , had plenty of hot water, a good shower and kitchen/ cooking facilities if you want to self cater . If you are a couple looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday I can't recommend Le Moulin a Vent highly enough.

Pure Erholung und Einsamkeit, aber dennoch nicht ab vom Schuss. Zauberhafte Windmühle mit viel Liebe zum Detail von Stéphane und Yvane restauriert. Die beiden sind super nett -Ein- und Auschecken war sehr angenehm. Volle Empfehlung ohne Einschränkungen. Danke für einen sensationellen Urlaub!
