I liked this hotel. It had a vintage feel to it and reminded me of Miami for some reason. Staff was super nice. You'll want the room with the view if you are staying to enjoy the area. It is THE perfect locatoon, just a short walk to the fabulous Silver Beach and steps away from great downtown shopping. Super safe. I walked back from the beach by myself after watching the sun set. It made me smile to see all the beach towels drying on balconies. I didn't have any breakfast and there is room for improvement as far as renovation, but I'd definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in a convenient location between the water's edge and the shopping district. It is an older property but the inside has had updates. I got the basic double room with two queen beds. The beds were excellent. The room was a typical room that had a very small bathroom, but did come with a refrigerator, which was nice. The property had an indoor pool and jacuzzi, but my party did not partake, so cant rate that. We did walk through the area and it seemed good. Convenient that it had its own parking lot. Overall a solid choice for the double room (2 queen beds), but not over the top.

Walking distance to the lake and public beach, shopping and dining. Bedding was new and comfortable. Soft close doors which made for a quiet night-no slamming doors. The lobby entrance is not well marked from the outside. No dedicated lobby parking area for check-in. The ground level exterior of the front of building is very sketchy looking with dirty windows looking into abandoned rooms with junk in them and an apparently no longer used entrance for a bar? Not a good first impression when walking up to property trying to find the lobby. Breakfast was a handful of bagels and breakfast cereal-didn’t even bother. Balconies are shared with adjoining room-not private.

Nice new bathrooms. Room was clean. Nice view of the river and lake. Nice balcony (no chairs). Pretty close to everything. I recommend driving to the beach because the walk is 10-15 minutes and if you have anything other than towels to carry it’s tough because the sand on the beach is soft and super hot. The hotel could use some updates. Needs new carpet everywhere. You could see light on all sides of the door to get into the room. The mirror on the door to the bathroom needed replaced. There was no door on the bedroom. Kinda weird when you have older kids. Smaller bathroom door was hard to close. It’s nice to have a free breakfast but it was the worst free breakfast I’ve ever had. No fresh or hot food. Our kids said it was like school cafeteria food. Lobby looks nice. Staff were friendly.

Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price This was an overall terrible experience, and I will not be staying here again. Despite the high price tag (over $300/night after taxes and fees), the accommodations and service fell far short of expectations. WiFi didn’t work, and we weren’t alone—other families at the hotel had the same issue with both WiFi and cable. Our bed had sand in it, which is completely unacceptable—even for a beach nearby property (NOT beachfront as pictures try to convey). The sheets clearly weren’t cleaned properly as they were sandy, and the room hadn’t been vacuumed. Adding insult to injury, they charge a 2% "cleaning fee". Power outlets didn’t work, including those on the wall and the lamp. This meant I couldn’t use my CPAP machine and got terrible sleep. The pool was empty—no water, so the kids had nothing to do after long tournament days. Breakfast was underwhelming: a few basic cereal options, stale bread, and some yogurt. Certainly not what you’d expect at this price point. The hotel was fully booked due to a lacrosse tournament and a local art fair, so switching rooms wasn’t even an option. This was not the experience I paid for, and certainly not the quality you'd expect from a hotel charging premium rates. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

The best thing about this hotel is the location—right near everything, which was super convenient. However, the room was not clean, which was disappointing. The breakfast was very basic, nothing special. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep near the beach and downtown Saint Joseph It worked for the convenience, but not ideal for families who care about cleanliness.

We were extremely disappointed in this hotel. We stayed with several families and the general consensus was that it looked nothing like the pictures and was too expensive for the quality of the hotel. On the plus side, the air conditioner worked well and it was in a great location right in the historic shopping and restaurant area.

It was a nice hotel but not as nice as the pictures. The breakfast was very limited (cereal, muffins, bagels, toast, breakfast sandwiches that went quick). Housekeeping was lacking. The left a whole roll of trash bags in the room and a bag of dirty trash in the bathroom sink. Coffee maker in the room did not work. I did love the big shower after the beach. And the walking distance from everything was great.

The breakfast area was not very clean. Cereal on counter and crumbs on table and chairs. There is no ventilation in bathroom so the toilet basin remained wet with condensation. Had to leave a towel on the floor around the toilet to absorb the water. Will not stay at this hotel again
