Artist's house, built in 1904, 500 m from the lighthouse, within a forest

Seaside, woods, countryside all at once. The bourgeois villa of an artist painter of the late nineteenth century. An extremely calm and peaceful environment. Both house and park are spacious. The house has two living rooms, of which one very large (52 sqm and 4 meter ceiling), four fireplaces, four bedrooms, one kitchen, two bathrooms, three WCs. The three floors of the house and its large rooms allow at once peace, calm and also being together with family or friends. The garden is ideal for flower-lovers, kids and well-behaved dogs. The trees are partly one hundred year old. It is cared for by a gardener and has various essences: rhododendrons, hydrangeas, azaleas... The flowering season is at its best in April, May and June. The closed garden of about 2,700 square metres is also ideal for children as a playground. The house is bordering a state owned and protected forest, about 500 metres away from the cliffs of the Cap d'Ailly. You have various walking possibilities, starting directly from the house: the cliffs, the forest, the seaside, the countryside, the various world-renown gardens in the direct neighbourhood (the Princess Sturdza's garden at 350 metres, the Parc des Moutiers at 1.2 kms, the Shamrock collection at 3 kms, the sea-overlooking cemetery of Varengeville with its beautiful church, adorned with stained glasses by Braque.... This an interesting old property in a great location, close to Varengeville and near some beautiful gardens. It’s very comfortable - although admittedly there was just two of us for most of the time - with a large sitting room and plenty of secure outdoor space.

The interior exudes a cozy atmosphere with comfortable furnishings, and large windows. Waking up to the sound of birds was an absolute delight. Their local knowledge was invaluable, offering great recommendations for nearby attractions, hidden beaches, and the best seafood restaurants. Ferienhaus mit viel Charme. Gut ausgestattete Küche - helle, freundliche Schlafzimmer mit guten Betten - gepflegtes, eingezäuntes Grundstück (ideal für Hundebesitzer) - viele Spaziermöglichkeiten direkt vom Haus aus - schöne Strände in der Nähe. Nous avons loué cette charmante maison afin de passer un week-end surprise pour les 60 ans de mon père. Nous recherchions une location avec une grande pièce à vivre afin de pouvoir dîner en famille, tout en ayant assez d’espaces pour que chaque « petite famille » ait sa propre chambre (3 couples + une famille avec deux jeunes enfants). Cahier des charges rempli. Propriété bénéficiant d’un jardin agréable (apprécié pour la chasse aux œufs), dans un secteur calme. Pas de vis à vis. Cadre agreable et naturel pour de belles balades. Proche de tous commerces. Accueil chaleureux : une bouteille de cidre et de jus de pomme, ainsi qu’une tarte nous attendaient au frais. Propriétaire aux petits soins, qui prend la peine de nous communiquer les commodités et lieux de promenades à proximité pour faciliter notre séjour. Expérience à renouveler.

Ein tolles, ehrwürdiges Haus mit perfekter Lage für Naturliebhaber. Schöne Wanderwege, morgendliche Spaziergänge/Joggingrunden zum Meer sind ein Traum. Sehr gute Gastronomie in der Umgebung und so freundliche Menschen! Wochenmärkte und täglicher Fischverkauf an der Küste von St. Varengville laden ein, die normannische Küche selbst nach zu kochen. Das Haus und der Garten bieten Freiraum zum Sein für Alle - für Kinder, Eltern und Haustiere. Das Haus hat „Seele“ und Charme. Ein paar Reparaturen stehen an, dann ist es perfekt.

Sehr schönes Haus mit einer ganz eigenen Atmosphäre, absolut komplett ausgestattet und sehr wohnlich. Ein Vermieter der wirklich keine Wünsche offen lässt. Gute Betreuung durch die Agentur vor Ort. Und eine herrrliche Lage in sehr sehenswerter und trotzdem erholsamer Umgebung. Wir haben unseren Familienurlaub mit vier erwachsenen Kindern und einem problemlos willkommenen Hund sehr genossen! A Wonderful Week in Normandy
There was so much to like about this property - the age, size and character of the house, the large garden (of which the children took great advantage), the heavily treed and otherwise very attractive neighbourhood in which it’s situated, its proximity to the sea, the access it gave us to an outstanding local bakery, the many walks it opened up for us, the short distance to Dieppe and all that it has to offer (most notably the Saturday morning market), the well supplied kitchen, the option we had of eating our meals both indoors and on the porch outside, to mention only some of its appealing features. Marc was also an excellent host, especially in the lead up to our visit, during which he sent us lots of helpful information about both the house and the local area that made our stay that much more enjoyable.

Charming authentic historic house
We have very nice memories of a week's holiday in this beautiful historic house. The house is situated in a prime location, has a large beautifully maintained private garden and exudes warmth and love. There were some minor problems with the refrigerator and washing machine but these were quickly taken to heart by the concierge. We also received from the owner a financial compensation for this discomfort.( very much appreciated ! )

We had 1 regret from our trip to France, not enough time in this beautiful home and garden!! After 4 busy days in and around Paris, this stay in a beautiful turn of the century home was exactly what we needed. The beautiful garden was so peaceful and the home so welcoming. We really cannot say enough great things about it. The owner and property team were great to work with and provided an abundance of information about the property and surrounding area. Wir haben uns in dem Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Ein Fehler an einem Heizkörper wurde sofort durch den ortsansässigen Dienst sehr schnell behoben. Leider war der kurze Zugang zur Küste durch eine Baustelle am Leuchtturm nicht zugänglich, aber es gab andere, wenn auch weitere Wege. Die umfangreichen Informationen die uns durch den Vermieter vorab zur Verfügung gestellt wurden, waren sehr hilfreich. Alles in allem ein runder Aufenthalt.

Fantastic house, great experience!
We had an absolute great time chez Marc. Everything from initial communication with Marc and property manager Franck was top! The house is absolutely charming with enough room for the 11 of us. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is stocked with anything you could need. I would love to return in the summertime. The area is beautiful and we had many good walks on the beach. Highly recommend this magical place!

Besonderes Haus in sehr schöner Umgebung
Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche in diesem Haus. Perfekt für alle, die die Einzigartigkeit alter Häuser lieben. Wir haben alles so vorgefunden wie versprochen. Alle haben sich von Anfang an sehr wohlgefühlt und wären gerne länger geblieben, auch unser Hund, der viel Freude an dem großen Garten und den Spaziergängen am Strand hatte. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter war sehr gut und vor Ort wurden wir sehr freundlich mit Apfelkuchen und Cidre begrüßt. Wir können dieses Haus auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

Ein einmaliges Haus mit historischem Charakter
Wir waren mit der Familie (fünf erwachsene Paare) und einem kleinen Hund in diesem charmanten Haus mit tollem Garten. Herr Tillet ist ein unglaublich netter Gastgeber! Er hat uns im Vorfeld mit vielen wertvollen Informationen versorgt und auf jede Frage geantwortet. Wir haben das Leben in dem historischen Haus geliebt und die Eigenheiten dieser "alten Lady" aus vollen Zügen genossen. Wer sich hier einquartiert, bekommt etwas ganz Besonderes, denn in diesem Haus hatte der Maler Jean Jacques Rousseau sein Atelier. Die Ausstattung des Hauses und des Außenbereichs lässt keine Wünsche offen. Sogar ein Strandhäuschen mit Möbeln stand zur Verfügung. Wir danken für eine hervorragende Woche und werden sicher einmal wiederkommen!
