“There were 17 of us staying and it was perfect for us all. Plenty of space, comfortable accommodation, fantastic facilities, beautiful views. The pool and hot tub were a huge hit. Would definitely recommend and would love to return. There were a couple of issues with door handles. One fell off all the time and one was impossible to lock. But, apart from that, it was perfect.”

“This a sizeable property and well placed for easy access to Beach, Town and shops. It has 5 bedrooms including a downstairs bedroom and en-suite. Some updating needed of facilities which has been fed back. However, this was a great success as it’s very hard to find suitable accommodation for people with mobility issues and I was staying with my parents who are 88 & 89 respectively. It had a small enclosed garden which is perfect for Animals and small humans a like. Lots of toys for children are……

“A great cottage for a short stay with a young family. Communication was great with the hosts and they were so accommodating. Having a parking space in Shaldon was a real bonus too. Bunk bed room is as described, not suitable once children are over 12 or so. Our son is 12 now and it was a squeeze in the bunks but fine for only a few nights. I’d say ideal children under 10 but lots of stairs so take stair gates. Towels were a bit musty, so I wish I’d have taken our own and things like hand soaps……

“It was a little hard to find, as entry is easy to miss and I wasn't sure which of the cabins it was. But once I got there it was worth the effort: a very nice shepherd's hut, with good facilities and the view was wonderful even in early spring, the only nearby neighbours are the pheasants and deer.Bad: Drive down (or especially back up) is very steep on gravel track so took some practice to get up. A couple of maintenance issues/improvements/need for deep clean. Good: Location, accommodation,……

“The location was brilliant. There was good equipment in the kitchen and the sitting room was comfortable with a great tv. Others have mentioned the water is a bit temperamental but it didn’t affect our stay. I think it could benefit from a deep clean. It wasn’t dirty but needed a bit more care. ”

“Lovely chalet and facilities. Only 2 problems noted. The grass around the chalet needed cutting. We reported a fault with the toilet continuously the house keeper’s husband came out but was unable to fix it. We had to switch of the water to the boiler on the night time as it disturbed our sleep. besides these 2 issues our stay was very enjoyable and would definitely stay there again. ”

Comfortable hotel

"Stayed here for 3 nights on this trip. A very comfortable stay with exceptional service. The air conditioner in the room stopped functioning, but the staff quickly took care of the matter as soon as we reported it and compensated us with many free drink vouchers; the manager got soaked in the process of fixing the air conditioning but continued to apologise to us for the inconvenience. The staff are very welcoming, and the environment is very relaxing. Will highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Exeter. Special thanks to the hotel manager and one of the hotel staff members for swiftly taking care of the air conditioner issue; despite ending up being wet in the process you both have handled the issue with grace and kindness."
